skynight Posted October 17, 2022 #3 Share Posted October 17, 2022 Yes. At the slots just choose charge to my on board account. The amount you choose will be charged to your on board account and net against any credit (OBC) or debit balance. The amount will be transferred to your casino account. Play. The casino account must be cashed out by the cash out deadline which in most cases in on the last evening of the cruise. Check with the casino staff. At the tables hand your medallion to the dealer and request that chips be charged to your on board account. Again the amount you choose will be charged to your on board account and net against any credit or debit balance. When you finish playing hold your chips until your next session or cash them at the cashier. All chips must be cashed in by the deadline or you lose them. To cash out - - go to the casino cashier - you scan your medallion - you put in your pass code - they give you cash If you want to put cash on your cabin account - go to guest services

You OBC will be listed in 2 categories: refundable and non-refundable. The non-refundable is used first. If you have any refundable OBC left at the end of the cruise, you can cash out at the Pax Svcs desk (if less than $25 - there was one report that he got $250 in cash, but that isn't the usual amount) OR if >$25 a check will be mailed (3-4 weeks or longer). Arizona Wildcat Posted October 17, 2022 #8 Share Posted October 17, 2022 Think the OP was actually asking about getting chips using non refundable OBC and then turning them in for cash. The promo chips need to used in the casino. Regular chips can always be turned into cash.

Trying to remember what to do, I could not remember what it was called so used pass code. It is a 4 digit password you pick When you scan your medallion at the slots, - set up a casino account - with your birthday - 4 digit code you picked - I think it might ask for code again - it asks if you want to take money from your cabin account into your casino account - the $ amount you want transferred - will ask for 4 digit code

The process is a little different for table games vs. slots. There is no casino account for table games. You purchase the chips and the amount you purchase is charged to your on board account. After playing just bring your chips to the cashier and they will give you cash. You can do this any time the casino is open. You can hold on to the chips and use them another day. The process mentioned in the above postings are for the slots. Remember that you can not use the casino as an ATM or bank. You have to play some especially with the slots. The casino can and does track your slot play. Edited October 17, 2022 by skynight

When you ask the dealer to purchase chips and charge them to your on board account you receive cash value chips. The accounting system charges the purchased amount of chips to your account. It is no different than if you were purchasing a shirt in one of the stores. The charge nets against any credit (OBC) or debit balance. You don't specifically designate that you are using OBC. It is just a very simple debit/credit accounting system. You may be mixing up Princess with some other cruise lines. If we have a lot of OBC that we just don't want to waste, what stops us from putting it toward the casino, and cashing out on the last day? Or any day for that matter? They cannot be turned in for cash, but any chips you win playing with them will be regular chips that can be cashed in. However, chips charged to an onboard account are not promo chips. They are chips you pay for and thus can be converted to cash if you still have any of them after playing whatever.

You will be locked out so if you want to return & play, you cannot. I ran a slot pull once and cashed everyone out at the end without going through the casino mgr and then was prevented from playing. Casino mgr knew what I was doing & got me back in but it was a headache.

Nothing as long as you really play, and not just a few small bets or pulls. So enjoy the casino.
