Quick review of the tour, EXHAUSTING. Said medium activity, a few folks were getting really tired because we never really stopped until we got to lunch. One food stop, that’s it.

Last tour we did here, we did mojito and rum lessons early, then went for fruit helados (ice cream) and then we went to a coffee place and finished at the mofungo. This was generally just a lot of walking.

Would I do it again? Not this one. Love food tours, this was more walking tour. Well over 3 miles with lots of elevation changes, hills and stairs.

But, I gutted it out and survived (and took a nappy when I got back)

Better way to explain it, it was a walking tour with a mojito and mofungo at the end.

The mofungo was excellent, BTW.

Yuca, tons of garlic and fine cilantro and some really nice slow cooked chicken in sauce and you mixed/mushed together

That mofungo sounds soooooo good!

It was. Was it worth a 3 hour walk up and down hills and stairs for that be the only end reward (and a mojito)?

Nah

moving on….

FYI - the walk from the ship to main shopping area is 2 miles of flat ground. Not hard, but hot and humid, for those of you not used to it.

They have funny soda cans.

Pizza class!

Fun time. It’s all from scratch, even the dough.
You follow along and at the end, they take all the pies and bake them elsewhere.
Then we feast.

@EnglceDave....are you icing that knee?  Hope you brought along some tape which would be a huge help on your busy walking days.

No ma’m, just resting it for a bit once done. Basically, nice nap and a shower and it’s ok.
to be perfect honest, the bigger issue is stamina. Just get tired. Got in 4 miles on shore in St Thomas.

Once again, I’d like to apologize if I seem negative in any way, we love the ship and are having a good time, just notice little things.

Like trash cans in public areas, hard to find. You’d think they’d be next to elevators and doors to the inside/outside, negative. Very odd.

Also many elevator spaces have a long blank wall, no reason there can’t be a bench or similar for people waiting for the elevator, especially elderly folks.

We left two hours late. We were snoozing, but heard the announcement at 3:30 that we’d be departing a half hour or so late due to a medical emergency and they were getting that persons belongings, etc…

Wow between this week and last there are quite a few medical emergencies 😬

I know it’s not Festivus, “But I got a lot of problems with you people, and now you’re gonna hear about it.”

This ship is NOT well planned. May be on the drawing board, but for first timers or maybe second timers, it has no real flow. The interiors just kind of wander to no place in particular. A lot of narrow hall areas, especially on lido. There could also be a little better signage rather than the tiny white ones with greyscale text. Yes, easy to miss. The signs by elevator say the spa is on 5 but you can only get there from 6. So you elevator or walk down to find out, you have to walk down, or if disabled, back on elevator. Bad planning or needs better signage on 5 at the elevators.

This ship is almost, or is, too big. If you want to do it all, you’ll need a vacation from your vacation. GO SLOW. Plan a return before you even board. Don’t try. Just chill and do what ever and do the other stuff next time.

Dinner waits varied from an hour at the Italian place to 30 minutes for Chibang. Deli sammiches are all premade, so it’s good but not “fresh”

Casino is confusing, but what’s new there. The dumbest thing is doing big Ultra Cruise party stuff right in front of the bar, no one can get through. Huge dumb clog. Gaming is busy which seems to make the machines generous. Busy can be good. I’m on plus side playwise.

I was sitting next to a guy playing Dragon Link, at $15 per spin. This guy had almost 40,000 points on the end of day one. I have 10x less and people think I play big.

Think about that, 40,000 points at $2.50 per point is $100,000 coin in.
BOOM!

Coin in doesn’t mean he put that much in. Think of coin in like this;

You put in $20 and you win a dollar here, five there and go up and down, all of that up and down counts. So while you may have put in $20 your coin in if your lucky may be a couple hundred dollars. It adds up.

4 miles onboard today and 13 flights of stairs.
I ain’t dead yet.

Now that you know what you know, would you cruise on her again?

What is your favorite class ship?

Yes, so we can finally experience it all.

Like you can’t do Disney in a day, you can’t do this ship in a week.

Random photos, including a door I saw….

Had a Guy’s Burger for lunch and beignets for bed time.

The beignets are good and if anyone from Carnival is listening, you should set up the breakfast area for late night coffee and beignets, keep it open til like 1am for the late night party people who need something before bed. Lost $$ opportunity.

Casino is still hopping. I am not one believes in schemes or theories on slot machines, but these do seem to only be really good if the place is super busy and you play/wager somewhere in the middle. Not the lowest and not the high dollar wagers…. Something like .02 with the middle wager, say it’s 180 credits…somewhere in that area seems their zone. No promises, no guarantees and you may have to play awhile to get it to go, but that’s been my experience.

Five miles today total.

I agree!  We were on her NYE and are going again the end of March just to experience the things we didn't get to do.

btw Dave-had total knee replacement back in 2019-it gets better!  Can't tell it's fake until i go thru security!😆
