Yes!  We were on the last Mercury cruise before she sailed with only workers on board to become Mein Schiff.  We sailed on her four times and loved every one.  Century was another favourite, but now we love S class.

The Century was a great ship, we still have our commemorative book that Celebrity issued during the inaugural year of the Century.

Solstice class is perfect! Going on the Reflection next month. Only negative I have about Celebrity is the fact that they no longer have 14 day Caribbean cruises.

Thats why we just did a B2B on Mille. there were different itineraries on 4 consecutive 7-night cruises.

the ones in San Juan we did Not have to leave the ship as the US Customs agents came Onboard, glanced at our passports and left.

We really enjoy the Silhouette and Reflection.  Size of ship great- service excellent.  We enjoy the lawn club grill also.  However, we sailed on the Apex and truly loved it.  SP restaurants excellent and the suite deck and lounge wonderful.  Only negative too many guests. Cozier on the S class ships.

I may be late to join this thread, because I was not sure what my answer would be, although it is an interesting question.

We have not yet sailed an Edge class ship. We're booked on the Edge in February 2024, so my answer may change.

On the S class ship, we sailed Silhouette and Solstice. In this class, Silhouette wins, mainly because of the Porch Restaurant and the World Class Bar . On Solstice, the Hot Glass Show and the Cellar Master Bar did not meet my expectations.

On the M Class ships, we sailed Infinity and the Constellation. (Booked to sail on the Millenium this Saturday.) I would not be able to pick a winner. I loved our experience on both ships!

M Class versus S Class: Love the glass elevators overlooking the ocean on the M Class and the location of the MDR. On M Class, love the smaller group of passengers. While on the S Class, restaurants like Murano and the Porch were really enjoyable experiences. So....still a draw. I would book either class in a heartbeat!

Ok pardon my ignorance but what exactly is the difference between the S and M class ships?  We just got off the Edge last week and had a great time.  Now we are considering the Silhoutte.  What really is the difference?   We will probably have the balcony/verandah option and no specialty restaurants.

Biggest different IMO is the M-Class's indoor solarium pool is like a giant whirlpool while the S-Class is a regular pool.  At the spa the S-Class has individual thermal loungers and the M-Class's loungers are a giant bench

The M class are smaller ships.  The concierge cabins are slightly bigger than regular veranda cabins on the M class.  The S class ships are newer and sparklier and bigger.  I don't mind them but I much prefer the smaller M class.  It seems more cozy and intimate yet we are always able to find quiet places to hang out and chat or read and not see a bunch of people.  The Silhouette is my favourite of the S-class ships I've been on.

The one that I am on at the time.   They all have their own charm and features.    The Officers, CD, and activity crew can also make a difference.

The cabin category and location also gives a different cruise experience on the same ship.

Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

Why?

There are a few personal preferences.  I preferred the flow of the casino on the Edge.  Craft Social replaced the casino bar on the Beyond.  Now there is a wall where the casino bar use to be.  It makes the casino feel more closed in.

I liked the artwork better on the Edge.  I don't get the elephant statue on the pool deck on the Beyond. Maybe it has a meaning but it just seems out of place and doesn't add any value, imo. I feel like I am missing something but maybe it was just the overall vibe.

The Sunset bar is nicer on the Beyond, and the bar in the Oceanview on the Beyond was a nice addition.

I would sail either again but Edge would be my first choice.
