The food is often wasted. I don't give a toss what or how much anyone eats. I truly don't. You can gorge yourself on all the lobster tails you want as long as you eat what you ask for. What bugs me is the waste, and I'll bet there's lots of it.

You can only eat one at a time so why order more if there's a real possibility that you may not finish it? It's wasteful, it's greedy, and it's entitled. After 60+ cruises I think I have any idea of MDR portion sizes and have a how much I can eat. Sometimes that's more than one of any course. Depending on what's on the menu I might rather 4 different appetizers and to skip the main course entirely. Never had waiter bat an eye at ordering that, unlike some of the judgmental busybodies on this board. RC spun the MDR changes as a response to pax wanting shorter dining times when in reality they're just cost cuts that create more work for their employees, insult pax, and create longer dining times. 2

But ultimately passengers are not 5 year olds who needs to be monitored to make sure they clean their plates before they get dessert.

On our upcoming 7 night cruise, my husband will order two entrees and give me his lobster tail. I don't care how large or small they are. It is what it is. No way would I ask a table mate to order me a lobster tail. On our 2/6 Adventure cruise, I could not order a plain house salad. Waiter told me it wasn't on the menu. Only caesar salad was listed. I ordered 2 shrimp cocktails and had to finish one before the 2nd one was brought to the table and not immediately after, I might add. Doesn't this make more work for the waiter? We were on a 6 night Odyssey February 5th and they had lobster night. I was surprised that they offered it.

If I tell my waiter I want all my food at once - he is better doing it or he will have a problem - the maitre is going to have a problem or the hotel director is going to have a problem! I will not accept a bully from people paid to provide service for me!

They cant or wouldn't eat 11 orders of meatloaf, but would eat 11 lobsters and brag…. There was a lady on here several years ago that bragged her husband had 10 - 12 (I forget which one) lobsters. I honestly don’t know where they put them or how their stomach can hold that much at one time. Mine would be coming up my throat. 🤢 I wouldn’t mind getting a second one sometimes, but I understand why Royal is doing it. They definitely don’t taste like Maine lobster to me like they claim they are.
