Adventure of the Seas - info gathering

I think Advenure is a great ship with a friendly crew. I sailed her twice in 10 months, the most recent last month.

* I like this class of ship because of the promenade but it's not overly huge like Oasis class.

* I enjoy the solarium cushy chairs and to be away from the louder music by the main pool.

* I though the mixology class was super fun and worth the $26.99 fee. We got 5 small drinks plus if you volunteered to read, you got a tequila shot and if you volunteered to make the drink you got the large drink. So fun!

* I think Viking Crown Lounge has great views for sailaway.

* The production shows were good.

* I love that purchasing lunch in Chops for embarkation day is an option. It provides a less chaotic start than in the Windjammer for lunch.

People complain tha tthe beds are hard but my bed had a mattress topper on it so no complaints from me. I have no complaints or any other things to beware of. I would definitely sail Adventure again.

I’ve been on this ship 4 times and loved it each time. It might have been the itineraries that drew me in but the love has always been there. I love Oasis class but the voyager class is a close second. The last I sailed her was 2018. Nice casino. Ben & Jerry suite if I’m remembering right.  Hopefully they haven’t amped this ship. I went on the navigator shortly after it was amped. It was fine but I like the old school “unamped” voyager class. Have a wonderful cruise!

I've been on Adventure a couple times and I have really enjoyed my time on it! It is one of the older ships but it didn't detract from my experience at all. Great for families or adults. I really like the promenade as well. Plus, if your cruise is before May, you'll get Tornado Tanya as CD and Grace as AM which is super fun! I enjoyed them a lot and the 70s disco was super fun with them.

On the deck plans for Adventure it looks like cabins were added to part of the gym space.  Does the Adventure still have locker rooms with showers/steam room/sauna?

For now, yes, but stay tuned. If Royal goes back to doing the full "amplification" like they did to Freedom, Voyager, and Navigator, they would be removing the nice fitness center and replacing it with yet more cabins, and putting a smaller fitness center elsewhere with no locker rooms.

When did they offer this, was this pre-covid? Do you have to book in the advance on the cruise planner, or was it only available onboard?

I am with you.  A mixology class for a decent price sounds awesome.   I'll be on Voyager and I don't see it as an activity, so maybe I'm SOL.

Any idea who’s on board in May?   we are on the 1st sailing out of FLL.  Hope it’s a smooth transition for crew.

happy to see some recent TR here.

Working on dining res for MTD.  Seems like ages since we’ve last sailed.  Trying to remember times for ice skating show, promenade evening activity & comedy or other shows usually commence.  Not having the printed dailies will be a big change, assume I’ll get used to the app.

Sailed her once out of SJU, think it’s the perfect ship for a port intensive itinerary.  Found it very relaxing and easy to navigate.  Not as many distractions/FOMO as I find on the Oasis & larger ships for me.

@teddybear231 and @HappyTexan44I did it in January of this year. It may have been called a Cocktail Seminar. They offered two during the trip on both sea days. It was so fun. I was on Allure in March and they did not offer it.

We sailed on Adventure this past January in two balcony cabins on 8. This was our third time on this class of ship and it was fine. The main thing I noticed -- and not exactly sure how to explain it -- is the balcony view, instead of being totally open, had sort of a rounded "frame" that was part of the ship, so that the balcony view was sort of oval-shaped instead of a larger rectangular-shaped. When you were out there, you sort of felt like you were in a cave. As far as the ship itself, it was fine; enjoyed all the food, shows, etc.

On the earlier ships, when they started doing balconies, they were basically a cutout like this, and later versions developed a more open approach.
