Looking forward to our first cruises out of Mobile…one mid October and then the infamous Halloween cruise a week later. Got two casino deals could not pass up. Any feedback on the casino layout?

I'm interested in this as well.  😉

Everybody has already told you how great the Spirit is so I thought I would chime in and compliment the Mobile cruise terminal. We sailed from Mobile on the Carnval Ecstasy’s final voyage back in October. It was one of the easiest terminals to get through we have ever experienced. They really pushed us through the line, we arrived at the terminal at 10:30 am and we were literally walking onto the ship at 10:58 am! I was very impressed with how easy and quick their boarding process was. Debarkation was equally as efficient.

What's the parking situation there?  We cruised from Mobile many years ago and all I remember is a big parking garage.

I work in Mobile and did one of the last cruises on Ecstasy last September. You are correct. Big parking garage with a weird way to pay. You have to scan a QR code and do an app and pay before you get on the ship. Make sure to get there early enough to get a spot in the garage as the overflow parking is definitely sketch.

Definitely true. I was on the last Ecstasy sailing and chose hotel park and cruise that time. Battle House was great.

If we're talking about the Spirit, it's a decent casino for the size of the ship. All of the table games are in the smoking section, although some of the tables had "no smoking" signs on them.

The non-smoking (or really, less smoke) section of the casino is separated by the main walkway that goes through the casino. The section to the right of the green line in the attached image is the non-smoking section. There's plenty of up-to-date slot machines, and a small bank of video poker/keno machines in both sections.

Drink service was generally good during my December cruise. However, the video poker machines in non-smoking next to Bonsai Sushi were farthest away from the service bar so it sometimes took a little while when I was playing there.

Mobile Parking - I was able to prepay online before my Mobile cruise in 2019. It looks like that is still an option. They use your license tag to keep track of who has paid. I didn't have to stand in line and went straight into the terminal after parking.

Although it’s quite away off, I’m really looking forward to the cruise on the Spirit.  I know I will enjoy the cruise because looking at the deck plans I see the Spirit has the Alchemy Bar and Guy’s Burger Joint.  The only thing that could make the cruise better would be an energetic Cruise Director and staff.  When we were on the Glory the CD was Christian and he was energetic and very funny.

I cruised with Christian back when he was on the Fun Squad on the Ecstasy, several years ago now. Probably 2018.

He announced on our cruise back in September that he was going to take some time off.  I guess he felt it was time for a change because he's now working for American Cruise Lines.

I looked into prepaying for parking just a few days ago, but wasn't able to do it.  Think the website not  up-to-date.
