I tried to search for any info but the search engine on this site is awful.
The Port of Seattle offers a complimentary luggage handling service at the end of your cruise, from ship directly to home. No need to haul luggage around or check in.

It almost seems to good to be true. Has anyone used this service and how has it worked out? Appreciate any responses. Thanks.

Discussed quite extensively on the West Coast Departures board. Many good threads there. It is very good.

Thank you, there are a lot. I don't know why the search didn't just take me there.

We'll give it Port Valet a try.

The service offered is great, and the program has had glowing reviews here on CC over the past few years.  It not only helps the passengers whose flights qualify for it, and it also helps SeaTac with less congestion around the ticketing counters.  It also gives an economic boost to Seattle when passengers can spend a few extra hours after their cruise exploring and doing touristy things without having to worry about schlepping luggage around.  It's a win-win for everyone.

Did you check the website for this year? I think they are.

Pier 91 staff orientation was this weekend and pier management said they haven't heard about whether Carnival will be participating in Port Valet.

OK. I thought I heard a month or so ago that Carnival would be participating.

Bumping this thread back up to garner any recent experiences.  As @CruiserBruce pointed out, there are several threads on the topic, including the one I started a few minutes ago, but finding them via the search function is a pathetic undertaking, at best.  As it is, I stumbled across this thread via google...

We just signed up for luggage valet service and I am hopeful it is as good and reliable as it seems.  Our confirmation indicates that airline baggage fees will be billed to our cruise folio.  However, we have 2 comped bags due to first class ticketing so we shouldn't get a charge to our folio.  How reliable is this?  I DID indicate an exemption to the bag fees when I signed up.

I just signed up too and i marked exempt .  We have free bags as we are flying first class.  It showed a zero balance at checkout, so i hope that holds up.

I am a Delta member with free bags also. Yes I have used the service a few times and they will not charge you once you let them know. The cruiselines will print out your tickets and such and they will know if you do get the free bags. So if anyone just tries to mark exempt and they aren't then they will know and charge you accordingly. It truly is a wonderful service out of Seattle. But you also has to have flights after noon time and anything before that will not work.
