Sky Princess itinerary change due to generator maintenance

Just had notification that our itinerary has changed due to maintenance on the diesel generators overrunning.
Shame that Skagen will now be missed and less time in Copenhagen.
Really not fussed with Zeebrugge as a replacement- won’t bother getting off this ship.

Wow. This must be a mess for those with excursions booked outside of Princess.

2 cruises in a row with changes. Grant you the last cruise That was definitely a pure safety reason. Hoping my cruise in the upcoming two and a half weeks does it have any surprise changes. Luckily I am good about going with the flow which I think you have to be especially when it comes to travel. More importantly I am just grateful and feeling blessed to be able to be on a ship to enjoy myself regardless.

Not sure if it is connected but last week on Sky there were a number of contractors onboard from Blue Stone who were installing a lot of cabling.

Interesting observation

  • Bluestone Group, a specialist construction company based in the UK, has won a contract from Princess Cruises to install Silverstream Air Lubrication System (ALS) on two cruise ships, Sky Princess and Enchanted Princess.

If you haven’t been to Bruges, it’s definitely worth a visit while in Zeebrugge.

Beautiful fairytale like town.  Wonderful chocolate, etc.

We coordinated a taxi for the 6 of us from the ship, drop off and pickup.

or there is a bus service also.

Princess guest services saying they have the right to change ports and any trip bookings not made through them will not be refunded. Cannot book for the revised ports as they have not updated their systems. Complete joke.

Been to zeebruge many times before. Nothing for me there. Already been to Bruges before too.

Nothing wrong with enjoying the amenities of the ship. I know when I sail very frequently out of the Caribbean I never get off for it because I've been there more than a handful and dozen of times. I do enjoy the peace and quiet when the ship is all empty on port days.

Just go down to ShorEx desk. They will have tours, I'm sure. It's normal that the system isn't updated that fast. Or it shows only few of the available excursions. Happened twice on Regal and Sapphire to me.

We are on the 17 June 2023 cruise that now includes Zeebrugge.  The link below will give you an idea of   excursions that are 7 hours or less that might be offered to your sailing.  Our time is port is is 10 to 6 and excursions offered for our cruise were 7 hours or less.  A lot on our roll call are taking a local shuttle or train into Bruges.

I'm on that sailing too! I just plan on walking throughout town, enjoying my stroll.

That's what we are doing.  Looks like a pretty town to walk through and take the canal boat cruise through the town.

I love Bruges! been twice on other cruises

now our 2 week midnight sun Sky Princess cruise in august has also added Zeebrugge, I’ll be going a 3rd time

coach to Bruges is 20-30min, and drops you off an easy 10-15 min walk to the centre

very pretty place, the best chocolate, & the canal cruise is relaxing

just wear decent shoes. It’s mainly cobblestones

Have you ever tried taking the train into town?

No I never have. Considered it, but i’m always nervous about getting back on time tbh.

How is it?

Train was one form of transportation I contemplated for my upcoming trip but just like you I'd be a little too nervous about time frame. Which is why I have booked in advance my shuttle into town

I think it would be very nice to offer everyone onboard free internet for 24 hours so that people can cancel tours and book things in Zeebrugge.
