Yacht Club Wristbands?

I’m hearing that they aren’t giving out wristbands for Yacht Club anymore on Virtuosa.  Can anyone comment? All of the very recent videos I’ve watched on YT talk about the wristbands, so I just don’t know anymore.

We've been on Virtuosa 3 times all in YC, 2021, 2022 and 2023. The only time we had wristbands was in 2021 when all the covid restrictions were in place, never seen them since.

We have never had a wristband post covid, as per @kernow comments above. All cruises out of the U.K.

Received the complimentary wristband from Cannes last year. Embarking on the Seashore in Marseille tomorrow, will update if someone remind me about this thread.

We sailed Sept. last year and Feb this year out of US and had bands.

Updating: MSC Seashore Marseille, just got a wristband. 
 

Boarding was hectic though.

If there are wrist bands for YC, that means it’s a ‘smart ship’ so there will be wrist bands for purchase for other areas of the ship.  EM

Yes but where they sell them varies by ship, it seems. I've seen them in the gift shop, at guest services, and at the photo package desk with different ships.

 

On my most recent cruise, they didn't want to give one to my youngest at check-in which has never happened before. I just asked the concierge for one and he activated one and gave it to us. It worked just as ours did.

I presume the wristbands are good for unlocking the cabin door as you approach it and when ordering drinks?

The wristbands are good for everything ON the ship, just not for getting off in ports, and back on.  You need your card for that.  EM
