Aqua Class Guarantee

It seems Aqua Class Guarantee is not available for single occupancy, only double, even though it’s the same price.Not sure why that would be.

Because they would prefer to fill the cabin with two people spending money onboard instead of just one person spending money onboard.

They will not let my friend book inside Guarantee. Not right as solo cruisers pay double fare. Also this person will not spend money onboard

I've never seen any category guarantees available for a single. I cruise solo most of the time.

agree - don't ever remember seeing cat guarantees for singles.

Book for 2, with your friend Helen, who then will invariably fall ill a few days before the cruise. You'll get the taxes & port fees refunded.

My TA has been able to do it for me.

You can either call and they can book it as a solo. Or book it for two and put a fake name and then they will just refund the taxes and port fees when the 2nd guest is a no show. 
 

It’s just a system limitation on the website where it won’t let you book a guarantee cabin as a solo.

I guess you could always book and put a phantom passenger and later remove the second passenger.

If you use a fake person, with the idea of having him/her being a no show on embarkation, keep in mind you will have to check them in. This means an address, a passport # and all the other info required for check in.

No, you don't. "They" can cancel (or no-show) before (without) checking in.
