What does guarantee/de mean?

I just booked a guaranteed balcony on the Enchanted Princess for 6/8 departure from Ft Lauderdale. I received the confirmation and saw guarantee/DE.  I understand how guarantee works in that I'm guaranteed a balcony cabin someplace on the ship.  I was more curious about DE.

That means with a guaranteed booking when assigning your cabin it will be at least a DE class or higher.

Thank you. That's what understood when I booked thstvi was getting a deluxe balcony.

Yes, but there are other Deluxes with higher sub-categories with presumably better locations, such as DD, DC, DB, DA.

I understand.  I could get an obstructed view or an unfavorable location.  I am traveling by myself.  So I think I should be ok.

You will not get an Obstructed Deluxe Balcony - they are category DW.  You have DE and will get that or better.

That said, I and others like to DW's on Royal Class ships where there are extended balconies as there isn't really an obstruction and you get reasonable outdoor space compared to a postage stamp.

I had E410 on Regal.  I loved it!

I also agree. Just off Majestic  two days ago and enjoyed the extended midship "obstructed" balcony and convenience of deck 8.

We had E409 on Majestic.   Loved that cabin and wouldn't hesitate to book it again.
