And another Grand Voyage, this time the Grand Africa!

 

ms Zuiderdam will be at pier 26 from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm, and she is leaving on a 73 day Grand Africa Voyage.  Many of us dream of the day when we will be sailing this itinerary!

 

 

Also in port is Viking Mars at pier 19 (5:00 am – 5:00 pm)

Camera is panning and even though we have buildings in the way of a clear viewing, the camera is not panning that far east to even attempt a viewing.

 

Still showing a 5 pm departure - unconfirmed.

 

She left Port Canaveral last night  at 7:40 - 20 minutes ahead of her ETD. Of course she wasn't leaving on a Grand Voyage - I expect her to be later than 5 pm. I will still plan to be here at that time.

My first ever ship!  That sounds like an amazing sailing.

 

I remember when I sailed Zuidy..  I was excited to be on deck for the sail-away.  Well, i was under the deck for a short while.  When I got back upstairs i looked around and said WHERE THE HECK IS THE PORT OF SAN DIEGO!   Oh boy.  Lol.

 

Good part is i did not even feel the ship move.  So, no sickness for this fella.

Just got an update from someone onboard. The Captain has said that departure will be at 7pm. A crewmember was taken off in an ambulance to get a CT scan.

I just came back and thought I had missed sailaway, but see there has been a schedule change.  Good I can still watch.  My screen is having the rotating circle continuously though, any suggestions?
