Hi Everyone,

Despite having cruised on the Equinox a twice already, we have never purchased coffee from II Secondo Bacio.

That said , for those who have , is the quality and service comparable to Cafe al Bacio ( which has always been a favorite for us ) ?

Segundo is basically an express service and only offer the Basic Drinks - none of the fancy ones that I recall.   Advantage is often there is no line as oppose to the Main al Bacio which is slowed with pastry orders and blender drinks.

Recently on some ships they have fired up a Express Service for just Coffee, Cappuccino and Latee at the Galato Bar

That has been the case on Solstice at least since the transpacific

That's good to hear.   I've been on some ships and the line was 50+ deep.     Especially after the restaurants close for breakfast and every one going for pastries and muffins.

Will waitstaff at the OV who come around for upcharge drink orders, e.g. fresh-squeezed o.j. or mimosas, take Il Secondo Bacio coffee orders as well? Never thought of doing that on the cruises we've had the drinks package, but finally making Elite Plus and not having package would enjoy coffee from there vs. what is available to all.

Where is this located on Equinox? I'm not seeing it on the deck plan.

At entrance to OVC .   Left side --- looks like a bar -  they also sell Fresh OJ.    If you look UP -it says al Segundo al Bacio.     I past it for years before I realized they had a Espresso Machine behind the bar.

Often a waiter will take your order and charge your card.   I believe you can also order from a waiter while sitting down, but have never done that.

Hello,

Yes, you can order from a waiter whilst seated (this year on Silhouette).

But Il Segundo serves its coffee in a mug not cup and saucer like Il Prima.

Yea.. It's pretty normal for American's to drink Coffee in a Mug.   Larger and holds the heat better.   I'm trying to remember -  do they even have tea cups with saucers in OVC.     I looked at a picture and only see mugs in the self service area.

Since we are not American my wife bring her own expresso cup with her 😁

The staff remembers her quickly because of it 😉

Love it.    It looks so delicate.   Personally I drink so much coffee I refer the al Bacio take away paper cups.
