Leverless slot machines

This may be a stupid question, but how do the slot machines work if there is no lever or button? We were on Allure last August and decided to go to the casino since they have a separate non-smoking one. We were lost when we discovered we couldn't figure out how to work it. It had been a few years since we went into the casino and it had all changed. There was not a soul around to ask for help, so we just walked away. Cruising in Feb. and thought I would see if anyone can give us a general idea of how we access the machine. Thanks!

Touch screens. It’s basically a screen to make it look like moving slots. I hate them, personally. I will go and try to seek out the very few ones with an actual wheel and lever.

Once you figure out the touchscreen slot machines see if you can figure out the convoluted process to use Crown & Anchor free spins. I'm surprised you couldn't find help, we get help from a casino host usually they're standing around waiting to assist people.

I search around and prefer the old-fashioned slot machines myself, but I’m afraid they will all be gone soon 😢.

Came to say the same thing. If only people knew just how not random slot machines really are, they may stop playing them.

If someone pays you $100 daily knowingly and legally, are you going to risk fraud to earn $150 daily? 

 

Casino are legally running a business where they win in the long run no matter what.  Only way they lose is if they get caught stealing.

Not sure what your point is? Slot machines are hardly random. They are required to pay out a certain percentage and those calculations comes into play every time someone spins the wheel. The laws are more strict at US casinos than they are on cruise ships in international waters. Are you trying to imply that I am saying they are trying to defraud those using them?

I misinterpreted what you were trying to convey.  Yes, I assumed you were insinuating that they are skewing machines to reduce payout percentages.

Nope, it is a PSEUDO random number generator.  Adds patterns of bits to the existing number and then takes a subset of the result as the new number. While the machine is certified by the manufacturer for the percentage wins specified over the long run, it will still run in patterns.  Building a truly random RNG is actually a difficult computer problem - if you plot either adjacent numbers or every third number on a graph you often get a visible pattern, not a random bunch of dots.  Lots of computers have a single RNG and when you ask for two numbers you are always pulling numbers that are a constant x number of machine cycles apart.  On a slot machine the timing of the push on the spin button provides variation.

 

If you want to see this in action try a three line video poker machine and hold three cards.  You will notice that the same card often shows up on several lines even though the three "decks" being used are supposedly separate generators.
