I actually believe odds are better in the casino

We knew someone on our last cruise who won a cruise in a balcony.

I watched someone win $10,000 on a $1.88 slot play. Anything can happen anywhere

So they charge both people $10 per day but there is only one entry per stateroom. How can they do that???

It's $10 a day per stateroom. Where does it say they charge multiple guests? Not all staterooms have two people.

Yes, I am aware that not all staterooms have two people. It tells you that Princess Prizes are included when you get the Premier package but yet only one person gets to use it? Both people pay $80 per day for the package. When did the price change to $10 per stateroom?

The reason I am asking about "two" people is that we have separate accounts, even though we are in the same room. I guess???, if the medallion recognizes my friends medallion first, instead of mine, then does that mean she will be the winner, or is the prize "IF" there is one, split between the two accounts?

You can sign up for Princess Prizes outside of having the package.

This flyer was in our cabin for the NYE cruise on Discovery Princess. So, that cruise or sometime prior.

Wouldn't only one person be opening a cabin door at a time? Maybe they had issues with guests fighting who got the prize, so now it's one entry per stateroom?

After reading through T&Cs, it absolutely appears that there is gamesmanship beyond merely enrolling. If the prizes work as outlined in the T&C, then making extra visits and opening the door with regularity and deliberation would increase opportunities to win over someone who makes considerably fewer visits to the stateroom.

The T&C doesn’t purport what the flyer posted here does regarding odds. The T&C claims 1:100,000 in the 7-day cruise. The flyer promises 1 per cruise. It seems unlikely that 1:cruise and 1:100,000 would equate.

The T&C are clear about 1 per stateroom. They are less clear about whether all parties contribute to the entries. In other words, can we both earn entries for our cabin by opening the door (together or independently) but only one can win?

so what was your cost of the free cruise? did they charge you taxes and port charges only? etc

The cruise is for two people in a standard balcony on any 7 day sailing. The only required payment is port fees and taxes.

Didn’t have to pay daily service charge?

It’s cruise only, no Plus or Premium fare package nor beverage, internet, or crew appreciation. Packages and transfers can all be added. Crew appreciation would be due on most itineraries.

Sounds amazing to me

January 2023 on a 7 day cruise we earned 3 $25 OBC prizes and multiple entries in end of cruise drawing.  Last 2 7 day cruises have given absolutely nothing, not even drawing entries.

  • 3 weeks later...

We won $250 OBC the last night on Sky in January.  I wonder if the predetermined suggestion is accurate.  Maybe we had not opened the door enough times to get it earlier.  It was great but actually a little stressful to find the best use of the credits immediately on the last night.  Not complaining 🙂

Are most people convinced that the number of times you open your door increases the probability of winning?

Seems like a silly process to me.

I don’t know if people are convinced so much as the T&C says that opening the door is the play. So, logically, more door openings equals more opportunities.
