For anyone who just got off from Celebrity Edge from the 12-night New Zealand cruise that started in Sidney on January 13, Reddit user HangOnImTrynaThink found your iPhone washed up at Mount Maunganui, New Zealand on Sunday.

I think the owner needs to get rid of that old phone and upgrade anyway.

Google how to find the owner of a locked phone.   It will have a lot of different methods  to try.  One is to get into the emergency contacts.  
 

If you have a charger keep it charged and someone may call.

What an awful judgemental comment to make. Sometimes an oldie is a goodie!   Also, there seemed to be cards in the slot which wouldn't be good 'floating' around.

Why people don't put name and cabin number information on their electronics is beyond me. Such a simple thing and it would have avoided all this.

I don’t do it for a specific cruise, I have a label on the back of my cell with my name and email so if I lose it I can be contacted
