Rare mom says Posted March 21 #2 Share Posted March 21 You should get plenty of suggestions on the Florida Departures board: https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/386-florida-departures/
CruiserBruce Posted March 21 #3 Share Posted March 21 "Affordable but decent ". Two incredibly subjective and vague terms if I have ever heard some. Agree, look on the Florida Departures board.
Ashland Posted March 21 #4 Share Posted March 21 Try Hyatt Place. Great pre-cruise location next door to the Harbor Shopping complex with a Publix market, shops and restaurants. Check pricing with ValueTrips or directly as a member. We've stayed there many times and as recently as March 3rd.
AKJonesy Posted March 21 #5 Share Posted March 21 Have stayed twice at Hyatt Place. They have a bunch of foodie places within a couple hundred yards plus breakfast is included. When you walk in, they have a kiosk to sign up for the cruise shuttle to your berth. I can't recall how much but probably cheaper or on par with a cab. That's Hyatt Place, Fort Lauderdale South and it's right next to Hyatt House Fort Lauderdale.

sailor05 Posted March 22 #8 Share Posted March 22 How far from the port of Miami would you estimate this Hyatt to be? We've stayed here a couple times many years ago for cruises out of FLL, but are cruising out of Miami this May. Valuetrip has a great price so it's worth a drive in the morning to stay so cheap. Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale, perhaps 30-40 min depending on day/time. You might also consider checking prices at Hampton Inn Blue Lagoon near POM. We just stayed at both hotels this month.

Lauderdale has all the major chains.......Hiltons, Choice Hotels, Hyatts, etc....etc....etc..... You would need to check prices for whatever dates you are staying to see what is offered. If you are going to cruise during the winter, that is high season for South Florida so $$$ will be more than going off season. What is affordable really depends on the individual. What I think is a good price? Someone else may think it is too high.........

We are doing that same thing. We will be staying overnight in FL and SAS transportation is extremely reasonable $ 13.00 for a ride to POM pp.
