Premium Access- should it show on luggage tags, cruise docs?

Recommended Posts

I purchased the Premium Access when it was on sale. It is listed as ‘reserved’ on packages when I log in, but it is not on my cruise docs or luggage tags. Since priority luggage and priority boarding are some of the perks, shouldn’t it be listed somewhere? Our cruise is only a few days away. TIA

I bought this as well and had to go back and look at the description when it didn't show on my luggage tags and I wondered the same thing.  It says it will appear on the key cards.  It doeesn't mention the luggage tags or cruise docs.  I figured if it was an issue on my cruise next month I will show the purchase email to the port people if they need it.  Hopefully someone else has more information.

I've no idea about the Premium Access pass and how it works, but I recommend asking somebody when you approach the boarding area. My wife and I are fortunate to cruise at the Retreat level and there is usually a separate boarding spot for that -- though the signage is not always easy to spot, so we've asked a staff member in the past.

Hope this helps.

Not being a " smart-alec " here :

What is the cost of the Premium Access and why purchase it ?

On any cruise we have been on we arrive at the terminal around 10:30 am , check in ( they never look at the scheduled check-in time ) , wait a few minutes and are on the ship by 11:15.

Am I missing something regarding the Premium Access?

Like everything, price varies. Currently $31/per person/per day for my April cruise. Currently undiscounted Premium WiFi is $24/per day and Premium WiFi 2 devices is $43/per day.

For SHORT (3 nights max) cruises solo it was worth it for me at times when the price dropped for the similar Royal Caribbean offering as I was going to purchase WiFi anyway and I enjoyed the welcome lunch (which I'd take out and eat up at Johnny Rocket's outside tables). Royal Caribbean delivered your carryons during the lunch to your stateroom (they didn't let you drop off early before staterooms cleared as Celebrity does).

It's a daily price for the length of the cruise and everyone over age 6 listed in the room has to purchase.

What's Included

  • Premium Wi-Fi for two devices.
  • Complimentary room service, unlimited (waived delivery fee & gratuities)
  • Early access at the terminal. (See FAQs for more information)
  • Priority luggage delivery to staterooms.
  • Welcome lunch in the main dining room served from 12:00 pm to 1:30 pm; be sure to select an early boarding time.
  • Priority departure from ship to shore in ports that require tender service.
  • Reserved seating at shows in The Theatre.
  • Express luggage service in the terminal when debarking.

Important details and advisements

  • When you receive your SeaPass card, it will have an icon confirming your purchase of Premium Access.
  • Premium Access must be purchased prior to sailing by each guest age 6 or older assigned to the same stateroom.
  • *YOU MAY ALREADY HAVE ACCESS TO THESE BENEFITS: Before purchase, refer to your stateroom category amenities and your loyalty status to confirm.

I had never hear of this but now I see that it’s like what Royal offers with The Key?

I am the OP. I bought it when it was on a very good sale because it would upgrade 2 devices to premium wifi (for each of us- have to purchase one per person.) and the priority luggage at embark/ disembark- for less than premium wifi. The (limited) reserved searing for shows and free room service will be bonus if we used them.
We have a sunset verandah, and they tried every email offer to get us to upgrade to a suite, which I ignored, so they sent this on sale.
If in a suite, i don’t see much value.

Ditto on any confusion regarding the "How?" of this item on embarkation day.  Rather weak communication once you've purchased and committed. It says, "Look for the logo" (luggage drop and meet for terminal access), so I hope that does actually exist. Other than the printout I'll take of my purchased items I have no other proof. My Xpress Pass indicates a time later than the start of Premium Access. I still plan to go to the lunch (if I get there in time).

If it's printed on the ship card that'll be good for later, but not overly helpful on initial arrival when they don't know me from Adam.

If the signage exists, I should be good to go.  If it doesn't, I'll just put on my patience pants and go for the ride. I'll be on vacation. 😊

On my xpress pass for an upcoming cruise, there is a key symbol shown. I have purchased Premium Access, so I’m assuming this is the symbol for it. I know someone else on the cruise who didn’t purchase the premium access, and they have no key symbol. Happy to be corrected!

I had Premium Access for my Constellation cruise last month, in Tampa. Here is my experience:

I purchased PA after I had done my online check in. It did not show up on my boarding pass or on my luggage tags. I called Celebrity and was told that it needed to be purchased before online checkin is available. Apparently, it has nothing to do when you check in. If you buy it after on line check in opens, even if you have not done check in, it will not show. My TA contacted Celebrity as well, and got the same info.

i was told to show my confirmation of PA to the porter when dropping off bags and to the shoreside personnel at the port. As for the luggage, the porter knew what I had and tagged on of my two suitcases with the correct tags (Suite/Zenith). Somehow, the second piece of luggage didn’t get the same tag.

When I arrived, and showed it to the shore side person checking boarding passes, she asked me to step aside while she contacted an escort. Within 2 minutes another lady showed up, walked me to a specific counter, where  I was checked in immediately. She then walked me to the escalator, where there was a line. She said something to the man who was monitoring that line and he immediately stopped the line, at the bottom of the escalator so that I could go up. Once up top, I ended up in the regular line to go up the gangway.

When I got to my cabin and picked up my sea pass there was a symbol that showed I had premium access.

Keep mind, this is how it worked in Tampa. In other ports, with different boarding areas, the procedures may be different.

I made the purchase for almost the same reason(s) as the OP.  It was 2 device premium wifi along with some perks I would use cheaper than just 2 device premium wifi for the cruise.  For me the waived room service fees/gratuities and priority luggage are added benefits.  Since I am Concierge cabin/Select CC I already have access to the lunch but won't need it either way as I am on a whale watch prior to my cruise departure in Seward.

Being able to have priority to drop off my luggage once I arrive in Seward that morning before heading to the pier for the whale watch and the 2 device wifi alone is worth it.

I also purchased Premium Access for an upcoming cruise. Just completed the online check-in and there’s no indication on our Xpress Passes that we have this. We’re still 45 days out from the cruise so luggage tags are not available yet. It remains to be seen if it will be on there once the docs are ready. In any case, could it be because guests still have the option to cancel the package until a few days before the cruise? That’s just my guess.

I purchased the pass when it was first on sale.  My Xpress pass has a key icon next to my club membership level.  This is for my cruise 24th of May.

I think it is just Celebrity's poorly designed website and IT department.  I purchased my Premium Access last month and it does not reflect on my luggage tags for my cruise on May 17th.  I don't foresee major problems because of it but once you pay for the package it should automatically be linked to your reservation.  Too bad it doesn't work that way for all of us.

Question about Premium Access wifi.....Is it 2 devices per person?

For example, I can use 2 devices and DH can use two if I purchase one premuim access for my self and one for hubby?

Or is it 2 devices per room?

I'm a tad confused. For our upcoming May 13 cruise on Connie, the cost on the website at the moment for 2-device premium wi-fi is $34.99 per guest per day. This price is being shown as a 20% pre-cruise savings, with the regular on-board price being $44.19.

But right now, the cost for Premium Access is $22.99 per guest per day (10% savings). And unless I'm misreading the details, that package includes 2-device premium wi-fi.

Doesn't this mean that, even if we have zero use for the other perks in the Premium Access package, we might as well buy it to get the wi-fi we want at a cheaper price? Seems like a no-brainer to me.

Thanks for all replies.

This is exactly why I bought it. It was cheaper than the premium wifi upgrade for 2 people.
