How Strict is the Dress Code on a Nude Cruise?

Recommended Posts

"When the ship is at sea or anchored, nudity is generally allowed. However, when the ship is docked, all passengers must be fully clothed on all parts of the vessel, including private balconies, until an announcement is made that it is acceptable to be nude again.

Clothing is also required in all dining areas, not including bathrobes or lingerie, the latter of which is forbidden as general attire, along with fetish wear. Specific rules regarding appropriate conduct in public areas will also be enforced.

Additional precautions, such as mandatory towel use on shared seating and strict non-photo zones throughout the ship, will also ensure privacy and comfort for all passengers."  - Cruise Hive

Still not my cup of tea. 😳

No way!

This is a quote from The Points Guy:

Big Nude Boat 2025

Embark on a Big Nude Boat 2025 sailing Feb. 3-14. The cruise takes place on Norwegian Cruise Line's 2,300-passenger Norwegian Pearl, where you can hang out by the pool or hit the casino — all in the buff. The 11-night voyage sails round trip from Miami and calls on San Juan, Puerto Rico; Philipsburg, St. Maarten; Roseau, Dominica; Fort-de-France, Martinique; and Castries, St. Lucia. The vessel will also make two stops at the line's private island, Great Stirrup Cay, in the Bahamas.

Prices for this sailing start from $2,000 for an inside cabin, based on double occupancy (not including taxes, rates and fees). Dates for the February 2026 Big Nude Boat sailing were not announced at the time of writing.

I might look into this. If nudity is not a requirement it would add a new dimension to people watching...

I wonder how they crew that sort of thing. It's one thing if your routine cruises gets interrupted by a floating Star Trek convention or a jazz festival or whatever, but most of these people did not sign up for that.

I go nude on every cruise, but only the wife sees it. I'd consider going on one of these cruises, but they'd probably never have another again after seeing me.

Crew are given the option of remaining on for the nude cruise, or transferring to another ship.

well at least it looks like it's a full ship charter as NCL doesn't this sailing on it's website.  Imagine the surprise if you boarded not knowing a good portion of the folks would be doing the full Monty

Any idea about how many crew opt out?  Percentage wise?  What if they can't get enough crew to work this cruise?

No idea.  Lots of the muslim crew would not want to partake.  The tips are usually very good on these cruises, so I don't think there would be a shortage.

Out of curiosity, do charters like these (or Star Trek or whatever) count toward latitude rewards? And do you get the perks for like platinum, etc as you would on a normal NCL cruise?

It's up to the organizer.

I went to a nudist camp a few years back, and trust me – it’s nothing they haven’t seen before!I went to a nudist camp a few years back, and trust me – it’s nothing they haven’t seen before!

Imagine the last cruise you were on, remember what the passengers looked like. Do you want to see them without clothes on? Everyone looks better dressed

I’ve been to a clothing optional beach in St Maarten and no one, I mean NO ONE, who was nude needed to be seen without clothing 🤮

But the best part of the day was watching two boys, maybe 11 or 12.  They were bouncing on a big floaty th No in the water when a couple came down the beach and they both fell off because they were so distracted.  And they couldn’t get back until there fast enough for more of the show.  It was years ago and we still talk about it.

Unless you’re trying to “hook up” with someone (which is the exact opposite of the philosophy of naturism), what anyone else looks like should be irrelevant. The point is to be comfortable in your own skin with like minded people.

We’ve been to multiple locations….
