Drafty Posted July 20 #1 Share Posted July 20 We arrive in New Orleans on the Carnival Spirit on Friday October 25th but there are no Port to MSY airport transfers showing up in my cruise manager, Does Carnival operate a port to airport shuttle? staceyglow Posted July 20 #2 Share Posted July 20 I don't know about that, but it is super easy to get a cab or Uber to the airport from the New Orleans port - and probably about the same or cheaper than what Carnival would charge.

Yes, they do have airport transfers. It will probably show up in your Cruise Manager soon. NEW ORLEANS TRANSFERS Carnival Cruise Line offers transportation between New Orleans International Airport and the Port of New Orleans on the day of embarkation or debarkation only. Guests may purchase transportation up to two days prior to their sail date. FLIGHT AND TRANSPORTATION TIMES Airport-to-pier transportation To purchase Carnival's transportation service, your flight must arrive no later than 1:00 PM on the day of your cruise. Transportation service will be provided between 8:30 AM and 1:30 PM. NOTE: Guests who purchase their own air tickets and are using Carnival's Airport Transportation are required to provide flight information via Online Check-In no later than two days prior to their cruise date. The airport is staffed based on known flight information. Once all known flights are met, the staff is released and service is no longer available. Pier-to-airport transportation Return flights must not be any earlier than 11:30 AM on the day of debarkation. Transportation service will be provided during the duration of the debarkation process. PURCHASING TRANSPORTATION To purchase transportation, guests can either contact their travel agent or Carnival reservations directly at 1-800-327-9501. Guests can also purchase transportation by following these steps: 1. Log in to access My Cruise Manager. 2. Click "Categories" located at the top of the web page, then select "Airport Transfers." 3. Once on the "Airport Transfers" page, make your selection. 4. After making your transfer purchase, return to Online Check-In and provide your flight itinerary. Guests who purchase their own air tickets are required to provide flight information via Online Check-In when purchasing transportation. Changes to flight details are the responsibility of the guest and must be re-entered into Online Check-In no later than two days prior to their cruise. Carnival is not responsible for providing transportation to guests who schedule flights outside of the service times listed above or provide incorrect flight information. UPON ARRIVAL AT THE AIRPORT After collecting luggage, guests should proceed towards the Private Transportation area; a transfer service representative will be located between Door 3 and Door 4. Once there, a representative will escort guests to the pier transportation. Guests who arrive prior to their sail date must return to the airport no later than 10:00 AM on the day of sailing to meet with a representative at the meeting point mentioned above. Transfers service will be provided by Concord Shore Services. Should guests have questions regarding the transfer service, the transfer provider can be reached at the following contact number on the sailing date only: 504-875-9997 or 504-491-0000. ON THE RETURN HOME A pier representative will direct guests to their motorcoach once they clear customs and exit the terminal. CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS The vehicle operator is an independent contractor. Carnival assumes no liability for losses, damages or injuries in connection with the use of the operator. Carnival reserves the right to discontinue transportation service at any time. Prices and acceptable flight times are subject to change without notice. * Transportation rates are subject to change and unused services are non-refundable. It's fixed taxi rate ($36?) between the airport and cruise port. With 2 people it's cheaper to take a taxi than Carnival's shuttle.

OP said "we" which made me assume more than one person since it's plural. 😉 For a solo traveler, you're right sometimes it can be cheaper to take the cruise line transportation. For a solo traveler, it's about $5 cheaper to take Carnival transportation vs a rideshare service. $5 to have your own car and be quicker than a shuttle bus seems worth it to me. Anything over 1 person is usually always cheaper for a rideshare.

Personally in over 300 Uber rides, I have never had an issue finding "Black Toyota 4Runner with license tag ABC-1234". Even in the most chaotic places. But, I can totally understand looking for a bus is easier.

I would text my ride and tell them to look for the woman with the giant pink purse.

So now you would be looking for a "Black Toyota 4Runner with license tag ABC-1234 with pink/yellow dashboard sign in the window" (or whatever color combinations you choose in your personal profile).

Fewer drivers are using these signs now.
logan25 Posted July 24 #21 Share Posted July 24 I am a user of Uber and Lyft, so don’t think I’m a hater. But be aware of “demand pricing”. The fare for the same route can vary depending on customer demand at the time of request. I have been sadly surprised at times because the quote is twice what I expected based on prior research.
