dmk Posted May 24, 2006 #1 Share Posted May 24, 2006 It was suggested by Kelnac that we list our winning bids at hotels. We could list them wih dates and areas. I pasted some answers from another thread so we could start out with summaries from any winning bid from any port.:D Ft Lauderdale Priceline "Winning Bids" Hi Everyone, I thought it may be nice to start a Priceline, Hotwire, or Easyclick winning bid thread. If everyone lists the hotels they are picking up it may be helpful to others. We could use this format?? Date: December 31, 2006 (New Years) Number of nights: 1 (post cruise) Hotel: Westin Fort Lauderdale Rating: 4 star Area: Ft Lauderdale north Site: Priceline Winning Bid: $95 Taxes & Service Fees: $19.17 Maybe every so often we could but together a summary page of dates and winning bids. If this works well we could have a thread for each cruise port. Enjoy! Kel I think it's a great idea.

cruzin'd Posted July 7, 2006 #15 Share Posted July 7, 2006 Just booked the Crowne Plaza in San Pedro, CA with a bid of $65.00 for December. Will take PrimeTime Shuttle from LAX to hotel for $32.00 for two people. Expect to take free shuttle from hotel to pier the next day. This sure beats $219.00 for hotel package. Asked for 3 star hotel in San Pedro. First time we ever did this-a little scary but soooo worthwhile. Good luck!! Anyone on the NCL Star to Mexican Riviera on Dec. 8?? cruzin'd
JRGAPI Posted July 7, 2006 #16 Share Posted July 7, 2006 I got the Hilton Long Beach today for two rooms on 11/11/06 for $196.48. This includes taxes and fees. The bid was $82.00 per room. This sure beats the price of $189.00 + taxes per night per room the Hilton website quotes. JR
cruzin'd Posted July 8, 2006 #17 Share Posted July 8, 2006 I've really got the hang of it now. We got Westin LAX for Dec 17 for $60.00. Bid $50.00 first and that was refused. Best price I got for the hotel was $159.00 using AARP before I put in the bid. With taxes total is $76.12. cruzin 'd

Rare Lois R Posted July 17, 2006 #20 Share Posted July 17, 2006 Hi, I stayed at the Hilton Long Beach back in Oct 2005. It was nice... more of a "business type" rather than a "resort" but they do have a nice bar downstairs:) ;)

Rare sonomaphil Posted August 8, 2006 #23 Share Posted August 8, 2006 Date: 9/22-9/24 2006 # of nights: 2 (pre cruise) Hotel: Marriott Renaissance Seattle Hotel Rating: 3 stars Area: Downtown Seattle Site: Priceline Winning bid: $90 per night Taxes & fees: $34.82 total Total: $214.82 Started at 3* and $64. Multiple free rebids later I hit at $90. Lowest rate at the Marriott site was $184 a night for these dates. Spending 2 days in Seattle prior to taking Amtrak to Vancouver for a Princess coastal cruise to San Francisco. Tricia724 Posted August 20, 2006 #24 Share Posted August 20, 2006 Date: 9/27/06 # of nights: 1 (pre cruise) Hotel: Westin Long Beach Rating: 4 stars (Priceline rating) Area: Downtown Long Beach Site: Priceline Winning bid: $90 Taxes & fees: $20.83 Total: $110.83 Rejected at $80, rebid $85 and rejected, rebid and accepted at $90....as high as I was prepared to go. Had been bidding off and on for the last couple of months, bids ranging from $70-$100, all rejected. I think if I had waited a few more weeks, I might have been able to get an $85 or $80 bid, but since my backup room was $131+ and was a lower rated hotel in a less attractive location, I'm satisfied. Lowest online price I could find for the Westin on that date was $199+tax.
Alaska05 Posted September 15, 2006 #25 Share Posted September 15, 2006 July 15, 2006 WESTIN BAYSHORE Vancouver $60.00 How far in advance did you bid on your Vancouver hotel?
