Wennfred Posted April 13, 2007 Author #226 Share Posted April 13, 2007 Hi Fred, I've been enjoying your Spirit cruise. Since I will be getting on her myself on Sunday. I have a question. How did you get to see them cliff diving? Were you on a tour,or by yourself,or what? I very much want to see them doing this. I couldn't find a tour offered by Carnival that included seeing this. In Mazatlan we took a tour with Mazatlan Frank, he took us to see the Cliff Divers, its a small baby Cliff compare to the one you see in Acapulco. Wennfred Posted April 13, 2007 Author #227 Share Posted April 13, 2007 I have a like concern as Hendricks Clan! Not that it really makes that much of a difference, but it would be nice to know that we can still use our benefits as CVC members, albeit an extinct group. I would like to be able to utilize the priority tendering while cruising Hawaii next week and any information you could provide regarding how to make this happen would be greatly appreciated. As a matter of fact, you tell me how I can buy you a drink or two before you get back and I will make it happen! You have been more than accommodating to all of us and I would like to do the same in return. Ken There is no problem using our CVC perks, Wendy still got the 25% off at sea for her Spa hair updo. A Carnival Group Coordinator is the one that will contact you and let you know that she will be handling any requests you have. She can be reached at 7777 which is the Pursers Office. Linda Hi Linda, We'll be on the Spirit in January of '08...leaving the 9th and returning the 17th. We'll be going to Acapulco, Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa and Manzanillo...with 4 days at sea. There's plenty of room available still, if you'd like to join us! :D
Crusin Karen Posted April 13, 2007 #230 Share Posted April 13, 2007 We did the same itinerary as gumballz booked in Jan. Loved it so much we booked the same, including the same cabin, for 2/2/08. Gonna watch the Super Bowl on the ship! Join us! The more the merrier! :D :p
gumballz Posted April 13, 2007 #231 Share Posted April 13, 2007 Karen, what did you do in each port? We have Acapulco covered, but not the others.
Crusin Karen Posted April 13, 2007 #232 Share Posted April 13, 2007 gumballz, I'll tell ya if you switch the dates and come with us!:D Ixtapa we just got a water taxi and went to a beach. It was fine. I think we will see the area next year, tho. But at Manzanillo....if you are a beach person and want a relaxing day~Carnival has an "Exclusive Beach Resort" excursion. It was the BEST. Beautiful place, snack bar, lunch buffet and open bar too! ;) We are not really "sightseers" too much. We really like to go to beaches and swim and relax. This was perfect for us. They offer 2 times. 9:30=2:30 and 2:30-5:30. We did the morning, but if you want to shop or whatever, you can do the afternoon. Morning was great for us because we went, got back to the ship about 3pm, DH took a siesta and I went up to Lido and relaxed by the pool. The ship leaves at 6pm. The hotel is Karmina Palace and it has a website: www.karminapalace.com. Look it up. It really was great if that is the type of thing you like to do. Let me know if you need any other info about it. Wennfred Posted April 13, 2007 Author #236 Share Posted April 13, 2007 Yesterday while in La Paz, I noticed 2 balconies with their Separators open, the cabin steward said to just call the Pursers Deck so they can open them the next day. The Wrap around on Empress deck has a cover on top, you will still get sunlight into the balcony. Its not wide open on top.
Crusin Karen Posted April 13, 2007 #237 Share Posted April 13, 2007 I am trying to remember the tables! I was so interested in the food....we were at a round table for 6 (went with 2 other couples) and I THINK there were some tables for 4 around us. I know there was a square table for 4-6 right next to us. There were a lot of booths, tho. We really lucked out. We were seated a table away from the windows at a really great location. Warning: I went to the dining room when we boarded the ship to see our table. The # of our table was one for 10 right next to a window. When we went to dinner the lst night we were seated at a completely different table! (which was much better anyway!) I asked the waitress about it and she said they switched the number markers on the tables??? So if you want to change your table, be sure you talk to the maitre d' lst and ask him to show you the table you were assigned before you switch. It was very strange! I think there was a "meeting" in the dining room during embarkment and they had the markers on the wrong tables or something. Might have been a freak thing, but I am glad I didn't switch our table! Wennfred Posted April 13, 2007 Author #238 Share Posted April 13, 2007 We got up this morning around 9am and had our breakfast, again they served the hashbrowns which are way better then the old hockey tater tots. We took a walk, I went to the Pursers Deck and asked for a Deck of Playing cards, the rep told me they no longer hand them out here, the Card room is open and there should be a deck of cards up there where Carnival Vacation Club office used to be. For Lunch we had the RIBS !! Very tasty and also the Fish & Chips, the menu has changed alot since they added the Alternative Menu which is great. Wendy had the Spinish riotta ravioli and the Lemon Mousse for dessert. Wendy said that the Spinish riotta ravioli wasn't as good as before, it seem to be dry. Well Wendy was the Champ today when it came to the Casino, she won over 150.00 and I won 50.00 so we are now even with the Casino and won't be going back. Wendy hit 3 Bonus Rounds on the Party Jackpot slot machine, one of her favorites. We got our Past Guest Pins in our cabin and our invitations, Wendy won't be going but I will. We have a Roll Call meet at 2pm on lido deck, hope everyone remembered. We have a Midnight Comedy show tonight and will go to it, this guy Seth was great last night during his PG show. Talk to you later Fred
