I have been wondering can you purchase bottles of wine for your cabin while onboard? If so do you go to a bar or call room service?? Thanks.

Yes. You can get wine through the bar, at dinner, or through room service.

Yes you can order one from the bar , at diner and take with you or room service. back to your room , make sure you ask for wine glasses.

Just off the Pearl. I brought 5 bottles of wine from an Oregon winery I work at. I wrapped them in bubble wrap and checked them in a separate bag from the rest of our luggage at the port. (we drove to Seattle) When all our luggage came, that bag was not there. Later, maybe an hour, there was a letter outside our cabin stating that I needed to come to the "naughty room". I signed a form stating the $15 corkage fee for each bottle and got to take my wine to our cabin.

 

We took one bottle at a time to dinner, they offered to keep the wine and we could have it at any restaurant we chose at any time, but we took it back to the cabin. I had one bottle of white wine that I kept chilled in the ice bucket that the Steward kept full of ice for me. It was nice to have chilled and ready at any time.

 

I did not try to hide the wine. I felt that i get such a good discount on our wonderful wine, it was worth it to me to be able to drink something I knew was good, so I paid the fee without regret.

 

One thing I wanted future cruisers to be careful of is to make sure you check the amount of bottles they wrote down on the slip that you sign. I was in a hurry and there was a line of people behind me and I didnt look close enough. I did get charged corkage for 6 bottles of wine. It may have been an innocent mistake on their part, but be aware.

Hello Dear- I have been busy planning my big onboard bash!!!!:D I mostly also got sick of the hypocrisy of some of the posts. Anywho, the bash is on and I can't wait. Gonna make a mint and have some gambling money left over to spend in my own suite casino! I thought gold Princess Leah type bikinis for the go-go dancers. You know, like in Star Wars when Jabba the Hut takes her hostage? Yeah baby yeah!!!!! Rememeber yout ux and I just had the caviar flown in fresh to go with the Moet that I can actually afford but want to bring myself. Love to get one over the man- hehehehe. See ya there!!!;)

Some friends just returned from a Baja RCL cruise and had their two bottles of wine confiscated. At the end of the cruise they had to fetch their wine from a table covered in various booze, full-sized irons, and. . . (I swear I'm not making this up)

 

a black leather bullwhip!

Back on topic- I'm going to try to bring a box of wine on the Majesty in Dec. I'll report back upon my return.

How desperate are they?

 

When will people get it's not about being desperate- it's about the fun of it all!!!:D My husband has gotten endless amusement out of watching me plot and schem as to how to get booze onboard. It is the game, the thrill of the hunt, getting one over the man. Call it whatever you like but it's entertainment, just like prowling these boards is and many might consider THAT not their idea of a good time but it's ours and that's all that matters. I'm competitive and that's just how I roll. Your'e still invited to my party Terry- I guarantee you'll have a good time. :p Remember- we don't stop playing because we grow old- we grow old because we stop playing.

I guess I didnt look at it that way.. I guess that was just another way to sneak it on board..I was just looking at the WAY they were sneaking it on board..LOL.. thats why I asked how desperate were they..

Well, no one has recurring nightmares or gets shot if someone sneaks some booze onboard.....so it's tough to compare those things. People might lose sleep the night before smuggling booze onboard, but that's completely different.

we also spend heavily in other areas.

 

it all evens out.

 

there are some strange people posting on this topic. the ones complaining about people being industrious enough to smuggle their own booze... y'all stay in your cabins please... you are the ones who complain about nitnoid crap all the time anyway.

 

what the heck do you CARE about a fellow cruiser bringing on booze for???

 

go take a hot shower and wrap a towel around your head.
