WHO'S ON BOARD: Officers, Staff and Crew

Blue Lagoon, there was a sort of tribute act on Eclipse last month - a guy doing Phil Collins. If you were on Australia sailings the entertainment offerings may be slightly different from the norm.

It was suggested that I try Who's On Board? to answer my question.

Last March/April we were on Solstice and there were many Tribute Bands as entertainment.....Beatles, ABBA, Elton John (excellent!) and Jersey Boys.

Am wondering if this is the route that Celebrity is taking nowadays as far as guest performers on their ships?

Thank you in advance for your info.

We were on the recent Infinity Pacific Coastal Cruise and there were two Tribute Bands: One for the Beatles and another for Elton John. Comments ranged from horrid to good; go figure. Just wanted to share this information.

Does anyone know if Captain Kate will be on the Summit's repositioning cruise from Bayonne in October?

And also does the Summit swing around the Statue of Liberty if the weather permits? Seems a little bit out of the way but fantastic if she does it.

Thanks in advance!:)

If they don't reassign her to another ship she will be back mid-September from vacation.

The swing by has more to do with getting permission to go up harbor as well as the weather. I know they didn't do it last week June 5th and I don't think they did it yesterday either (June12th). Not sure why.

We were fortunate enough to do it on our May 29th cruise, which was also Fleet Week and Memorial Day weekend. Not only was the weather spectacular but the views of the Statute of Liberty, The Freedom Tower and NYC Skyline were awesome. It was the best sail away from Bayonne we have ever had and we have sailed out of Bayonne 15 times, so that is saying something.

Thanks for the info on Capt. Kate.

Wow, your sailaway sounds amazing!

We've sailed from Bayonne and NYC west side pier once but never in good weather.

We're keeping our fingers crossed for a good view this time.:)

It was very windy in NY Harbor yesterday. Whitecaps all over. Just a guess.

Does anyone know where Deborah Poortier is? She was the Captain's Club Hostess on board the Silhouette last June/ July when we did our British Isles and Northern Europe cruises. My wife and I liked her very much and were just wondering if anyone knows what ship she might be on now. Thanks in advance for the help.

We have not been cruising for a while and with no concrete plans to do so, I have been waiting for others to post staff changes. Thank you for the last few posts, they are rare indeed.

For July, names in blue have been spotted in the last month, names in white are based on old posts.

If anyone has the name of production shows for any ship, please post; they are unlikely to change unless Celebrity actually pays attention to Cruise Critic critiques and reviews. ;)
