Does anybody know how I can find the full name of the sommelier we had our CS cruise. We just got off the ship in IST. )

Could you provide details of CS staffing?

We will be boarding CS October 7th and might be able to get a name for you. I would need more info since many move around the dining room.

Thanks elena7seas and c-legs. Changes continue according to live threads.

Captain Yannis Bardos assumed command September 22nd according to a friend onboard. Whether he will be onboard through Christmas is not known. Three months on/off pattern might suggest he will be home for Christmas.

Solstice is in port Dec 22nd in NZ.

Thanks - she will actually be in Sydney on Dec 22nd, the day we disembark :)

EQ HD is Darren Tiller, GRM is Nick Shrives, Exec Chef is German Rijo with CC Host(ess) Rossy onboard until early Dec.

Thanks for the update.

Nick Shrives seems to have disembarked when you did and is now on Constellation. Darren Tiller was replaced by a new name: Benny Weidacher.

A search put him on Explorer of the Seas. Is there some cross training going on?

Hi,Arno

Darren Tiller seems to have moved around a lot lately. He was ''just getting on'' Summit late summer;when we sailed, Peter Nodal just started in his place, ...now he's moved again....twice !!!

Either he is cross training other potential HD ( wouldn't make sense as regards P.Nodal who has been with Celebrity for over 20 years !!! ) or he is being cross-trained...or tried in various environnements. We had him last summer on Century. While he didn't overly impress us, he appeared to quite active, visible, courteous and obviously ran a good hotel operation ( on the surface at least). Seems much more ''cut'' for a Celebrity-type operation than a RCCL-type. Not the ''rah rah'' type but is quite dignified and sophisticated.

Good luck on your diet. A good idea is to get your clothes ''enlarged''before you leave on your next B2B2B2B2B2B etc,etc....;makes you feel good for a start, and even better when you come back !!!;)

Cheers

Claude

You raise an interesting speculative point about "cross training". Remember when there were AL Umpires and NL Umpires. Now they just have "Umpires" who cover whatever game they're assigned. Wonder if RCCL will be doing the same thing? Could give them flexibility. Another sign of a closer relationship between the parts?

Melissa Snow is leaving the Summit at the end of the current 2 week cruise. Marlene and Ashley that are currently assisting her will be staying on. Marlene is going to the Constellation in November and Ashley will remain on the Summit. They are the Captain's Club Hostesses.

We were on the 9/7 cruise. Melissa was training Marlene-she will be fantastic. Ashley was in customer service at the start of the cruise and left during to go to initial training. I had one dealing with her and she went above and beyond the call of duty. Marelene is from Panama and Ashley from the US. They will be great hostesses.

Melissa is going on vacation at the end of November and does not yet know her next assignment.

Happy Sails to You

Bob, I was on the cruise with you. I had Marlene on her first assignment in March on Century. She was NOT in training, but an EQUAL hostess with Mell because of the large numbers of elites on the New Eng cruises, she's been a hostess for 6 mos. The reason she may have not seemed equal to you is she let Mell do all the announcements, because she has a little stage fright. Of course, back in March she had to do the announcements and she did fine.

And yes she is fantastic.
