Hi there,

Perhaps an update can be made to the entry for the above-noted stateroom as a caution for future cruisers.

THIS IS A FOUR PERSON STATEROOM. If Celebrity needs it for four people you can AND WILL get bumped.

I think this is an important update just so that people are aware of the potential pit fall of booking this room.

Does anyone know of any other four person rooms?

Thanks :)

What does getting "bumped" mean? Do you get a lesser room or something you do not want? What options does a person have who is "bumped"? Can they cancel? How long before final payment do they notify you of being "bumped"?

Deck: Vista

Cabin: 8112

Class: 1C

Port or Starboard: Starboard

Bed Location: Next to Bath

Balcony View: Directly under the wing of the bridge, doesn't obsure view. Looking forward at night you can see lots of stars. Looking to the rear you can see the entire ship. However, there will be no hanky panky on this balcony as there is a fish eye camera that hangs down under the bridge.

Balcony Size- Normal size, wind not an issue.

SHIP: Equinox

CABIN #: 1518

DECK #: 11

CLASS: Aquaclass

AREA: Port

BED NEAR: balcony

QUIET?: Noise from treadmills above beginning at around 6:30 am and ending at around 11 pm. We wear earplugs to bed but were still awaken by the sound in the morning and had trouble getting to sleep if we went to bed early. We spent little time in the cabin, so it was not a huge issue for us.

BALCONY VIEW: Great unobstructed view all around except for the bridge which we enjoyed looking at. We didn't have the overhang above or the supporting posts like many of the 10th and 11th floor rooms have from the middle to the rear of the ship. However, we spent so little time on our balcony that I don't think this would've been a big issue for us.

BALCONY SIZE: normal

WIND A PROBLEM?: windy at night when the ship was moving faster

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We would not choose Aquaclass again. The rooms are in a poor location of the ship; (noise from common areas above, bad for people with motion sickness, large overhangs and beams). We can live without the iced tea that we didn't drink, the canapes that we didn't eat, the flower and aromatherapy diffuser, the concierge that we didn't use, and the upgraded soap/hair products. The only things that we would miss are the free water bottles, free access to the Persian Garden, and breakfast at Blu. We only ate dinner at Blu the first half of our cruise because of the very limited menu!

SHIP: Eclipse

CABIN #: 2106

DECK #: Resort (12)

CLASS: Concierge Class (C2)

AREA: Starboard Midship

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes - very

BALCONY VIEW: Excellent - full view forward and aft

BALCONY SIZE: HUGE Hump balcony - probably the largest except for suites

WIND A PROBLEM?: Not at all

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Great location, just off the Midship elevator lobby, same deck as the pool, one deck down from the Oceanview Cafe. I would book this one or 2105 whenever possible.

Ship: Solstice

Cabin # 3137

Deck # 3

Class: Oceanview

Bed near: Bathroom

Quiet: Very quiet, did not hear any sounds. We were under the shops.

No Balcony

Comments: We thought this was a great deck to be on, very convenient. We liked being able to walk up 1 deck to our rooms after excursions and likewise down 1 flight when leaving the ship. Our dining was on same level. We loved having the passport bar close at hand where we could enjoy the "livingroom" setting. Also enjoying all the activities held in the Grand Foyer. Would book this area again.

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 1519

DECK #: Penthouse (11)

CLASS: AquaClass (AQ)

AREA: Forward port

BED NEAR: Bath

QUIET?: Mostly very quiet (rare, minor noise from Persian Garden door closing and community shower above, that was non-existent after spa closure)

BALCONY VIEW: Excellent, with direct view to water below

BALCONY SIZE: Normal

WIND A PROBLEM?: Occasionally, when sitting in aft chair at full-speed

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Great location, with easy access to forward elevator bank/stairs. Perhaps a tad more "rocking" motion at times (mostly when full-speed) compared to midship/lower deck. Easy access to fitness center/spa/solarium.

SHIP: Equinox

CABIN #:1026

DECK #: 10

CLASS: Concierge Class 3 (C3) Accessible

AREA: Forward, Starboard side

BED NEAR: in the center

QUIET?: Yes

BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed, excellent view

BALCONY SIZE: Wider than usual due to width of room

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: Accessible rooms are 1.5x the width of a regular room, making them approximately the same size as a Sky Suite. Couch is smaller than in a regular room (pulls out to a twin-sized bed) and situated in the corner near the balcony (size and placement make it somewhat useless). TV is directly across from the bed (a HUGE plus IMO, as we prefer to watch TV in bed rather than on the couch). There is less storage in this room due to the lack of a cabinet over the bed, but we found the closet and drawers adequate. Nightstands are larger than in regular rooms, which was nice. Bathroom was large, but shower has a curtain and no lip on the floor, so water had a tendency to go everywhere (easily avoided by placing a towel barrier on the floor).

Ship: Equinox

Cabin # 6210

Deck # 6

Class: Balcony

Bed near: Bathroom

Quiet: Alot of creaking when the ship was moving. Also there were mechanical noises such as pounding and metal banging when the ship was moving. I had to put cotton in my ears at night.

BALCONY VIEW: Partial life boat obstruction, but it didn't bother us.

BALCONY SIZE: larger balcony near the hump; one of the sweet 16. Loved the size of the balcony. There was shade for me and sun for my husband.

WIND A PROBLEM?: no

SOOT A PROBLEM?: no

Comments: The balcony was about halfway obstructed with the lifeboat on the left, but only up to the railing. We really didn't mind it. The noise bothered us more. But overall we really liked the Equinox and would sail on it again but not in this cabin.

Deck - 10

Cabin # - 1026

Class – C3

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard, Forward

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Bath, but plenty of space between bed and bath wall.

Quiet Cabin – Quiet, not connecting.

Balcony View - No obstructions, very private, sometimes you can see bridge activity in daylight, which was fun.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Oversized, since accessible cabins are 1.5x width of normal CC cabins.

Was wind a problem? Not on our Caribbean itinerary

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? NA

Any specific problems with this cabin? None at all. We loved it.

Any other comments? Our wheelchair-using traveler found the cabin and esp. the bathroom easier to navigate than those on the M and C Class ships we've cruised. His able-bodied spouse (me) loved the storage above the bathroom sink and the many hooks for towels, washcloths, robes, etc.

This cabin is identical to Cabin 1024, except that 1024 is the mirror image in layout to 1026.

A few pictures here, and many pictures posted at this link.

Ship - Equinox

Deck - Penthouse (11)

Cabin # - 1502

Class – Aqua Clas

Starboard or Port Side - Starboard

Bed near?(balcony or bath) – Balcony

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – None at all. We heard about other people saying they heard noise from the gym, but we didn't hear any. I think the reason for this is this cabin is actually below the open deck area at the front of the gym.

Balcony View - Being the foremost room, the view to the left from the balcony is obstructed by the wing of the bridge. However, this didn't really cause us any concern.

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - Normal

Was wind a problem? No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? None

Any other comments? While there are many benefits to being in Aqua Class, we would have said access to Blu and access to the Persian Gardens / Relaxation Lounge are the best. Most of the other benefits are "nice-to-haves" but could live without.

SHIP: Solstice

CABIN #: 1289

DECK #: 10

CLASS: concierge - tho we only saw the cabin attendant 3 times in 7 days.

AREA: Aft - Port - Approx. 26-30 cabins aft of the central elevators & library.

BED NEAR: Balcony

QUIET?: Yes & No. Cabin directly across from doorway in which attendant is moving carts so there is that occasional noise. Also, with our TV off, you could hear the drone of conversation from cabin 1287, but not the words.

BALCONY VIEW: Unobstructed. Enjoyed a lot of time on the balcony.

BALCONY SIZE: Average

WIND A PROBLEM?: No

SOOT A PROBLEM?: No

PROBLEMS/COMMENTS: We really loved the understated elegance of the Solstice. Didn't think much of the advance advertising about the lawn, but found ourselves spending a lot of our time up there, playing bocce, croquet, and listening to live music. Loved watching the artists blowing glass at the Corning Glass Show.

Class – AQ

Starboard or Port Side - Port

Bed near?(balcony or bath) –Bath

Quiet Cabin (With comments on problems. Note if connecting. ) – no problems

Balcony View - Give comments on view, noting if location of any obstructions was an issue. – no obstructions, great view

Balcony Size? Normal or oversized for class? - normal

Was wind a problem? No

If an aft cabin, was soot a problem? N/A

Any specific problems with this cabin? YES, the smell. The smell has been described as Urine, rotten eggs or stale odor.

This was confirmed by the housekeeping staff.

Any other comments? In consultations with celebrity the smell is a known problem on Solstice class ships normally found in the hallways, but not in cabins. There is a problem with the insulation when subjected to higher humidity. Opening the balcony door just makes it worse. Spoke to passengers in 1643 and 1647 who said they were experiencing the same smell.

Hi to Everyone............

Has anyone ever booked a GTY X balcony cabin on the Solstice? If so, could you share some insight as to where the cabin might be located and would it have an obstructed view? I've never booked this category before but have sailed on the Solstice previously in balcony cabins.

We are sailing on the Solstice again next month and would so appreciate thoughts and/or comments on this if you have booked this type of cabin. Thank you so much.

Any specific problems with this cabin? YES, the smell. It seemed like rotting eggs in the bathroom all the time.
