Pop Cards - Do they change the color?

Well for those of you who are so "WORRIED" that I would actually reuse it, looks like wouldn't be able to even if I wanted to. I was simply asking a question, then had to put some fun into it. I have always had a bar bill, so no need to worry that I am cheating the cruise line. Not all of us make a ton a money, but we do what we have to in order to be able to enjoy life also.... I have worked 2 jobs for 5 years AND gone to college full time the past two years. My graduation present to myself is the cruise.... Inside gty, with cheap airfare, looked for the best bargain I could find and went with it. We all deserve a treat once in awhile. And I will add, NO credit card debt....

Simple way to find out is bring your old one, try to use it. If they don't accept it laugh about it and say something like "it's a sign you cruise too much when your old pop card is in your wallet. The wife (or husband) must have mine, I'll be back." Pretty simple. I wasn't asked for my opinion, the OP asked if they change the color, etc. Not what is right or wrong : )

It really isn't bad, I didn't get one on my first cruise... didn't need it, but decided on the second one that I would. There are plus and minuses with it, such as is it really worth it or not. All a personal preference. You can read much debate on that as well in the posts.

what is a pop card?

He or she, is talking about a card you get when you purchase the "all you can drink" card when you go on a cruise. For one price (usually $7.00 a day) it allows you to drink all the soft drinks you can.

On some cruise lines, like Royal Caribbean, you get a sticker that is placed on your Sea Pass Card so you can't reuse it from one cruise to another.

Would make more sense to use a sticker on the current sign and sail card. I know Princess did that and they changed the sticker from sailing to sailing even. Sometimes it was a coke sticker, other time had a Sprite sticker. Would be a lot easier to keep up with by just looking at one card. Know for kids I would rather they just had the one card to keep track of.

Been there...Done that... Got the t-shirt...I understand where you're coming from.

After many painful mistakes and having to wake up and look myself in the mirror, I have determined that,,,,

Someone else can steal my money, steal my wife, take my home and car,,,,But ONLY I CAN GIVE AWAY MY CHARACTER AND INTEGRITY,,,NOBODY CAN STEAL THAT.

My DH got a soda card on our last cruise - Carnival Freedom, May 2009. That ship is now using a sticker on your Sail and Sign card and has done away with a separate soda card. His was a Coke sticker.

We spoke to the bar attendant when he paid for the soda card. She explained that Carnival was onto people reusing them. (That never even occured to us - and we have bought several). I imagine that this will be expanded fleet-wide eventually.

That is smart of them. I was going to put on here last night, that if Carnival is dumb enough to reuse the same card, then they can only think that people are going reuse them.... KUDOS to them for changing it. I actually thought it was funny that I found the card in a desk drawer after two years....

We have some old ones too! I keep them with the Sail and Sign cards, Capers, and pictures from each cruise. I am hoping to do scrap books one day - LOL. Right now I have "cruise bags" instead of cruise scrap books :)

Looks like there's going to be a black market for soda brand stickers. I wonder how much Coke, Sprite, and other Coke brand stickers are going for on e-Bay now? I wonder if you can buy them at the gift shop at World of Coke in Atlanta?

This is not directed at the OP, but it amazes me when I hear about people trying to cheat the system by not buying a $50 (or whatever, $7pd) soda card and then will turn around dump hundreds in the casino and bar. Chalk the $50 up to it's "just part of the vacation expense." If you're really worried about the expense, bring your own soda on board.
