Rare kazu Posted April 29, 2012 #5 Share Posted April 29, 2012 I hate to disagree with the experts - but we saw if offered at the wine tastings - for a fee:D wine tastings are not that expensive and if you enjoy caviar - it's there :) I think it was the premium wine tastings:D As well, if you happen to be in a suite, it may be offered at the offerings (I know KK you haven't had it) - if you really like caviar - I recommend booking the prinsendam:D

So it is around, just not as excisable as it was years back. I've also seen it in some of the appetizers that Hal offers at different venues. I forgot about MIX. I will admit to never having seen anyone actually eating it there but I'm sure you are correct it is offered for purchase. Rare LAFFNVEGAS Posted April 30, 2012 #12 Share Posted April 30, 2012 Also on the longer voyages that offer the Suite lunch for the Suite passengers they have always had cavier, granted not high end but I enjoyed it with the chopped egg and onions finely diced :D Melodie, I want to say I saw the cavier in the Neptune one late afternoon as well when we were on the Oosterdam. But I did not frequent the Neptune that often since we were on the aft on deck 8.

IRL_Joanie Posted April 30, 2012 #14 Share Posted April 30, 2012 You actually saw Caviar in Neptune Lounge? Really? What ship? I'm trying to figure out how my DH missed that. He loves caviar. Everyone of the Ships I've been on in Suites, Westerdam, Nieuw Amsterdam, Zuiderdam and last month on Noordam, there were little tiny rounds of bread with a caviar topping on them in that thingy that is nect to the drinks. It is usually around 2 p.m. por thereabouts when I've been there and seen them. Generally though, since I prefer not to share my caviar, I order a few for delivery in my stateroom. (See my last post for info on how to do it) Joanie

sail7seas Posted April 30, 2012 #16 Share Posted April 30, 2012 Ahhhh, I just saw Lisa's post. You're talking about Neptune Lounge,,,,,,,, right? If so, I'm amazed DH has never brought any back to our cabin. He does the 'check out what they have in Neptune" late afternoon visit and brings back to our cabin nibbles he thinks we'd like. He hasn't brought caviar which is odd as he really likes it. Maybe he didn't like the presenation. I'll have to ask him.

Thanks if you can tell me where on the ship we're talking about. In the Neptune Lounge. The large round dome thing. And in my stateroom, but on a plate not under a dome:D As for presentation, it does look appetizing, but I do not care for the tiny hard rounds of bread so I only eat the caviar, which is what I wanted anyway:) Joanie

Krazy Kruizers Posted April 30, 2012 #23 Share Posted April 30, 2012 Caviar -- used to have the black caviar at the Suite lunches when it was a buffet. But now it is a sit down lunch with only a couple of choices for the entree. I still see the red caviar once in a while in the round server in the Neptune Lounge. Caviar has not been served in the dining room for a long time. along with it being in the Neptune Lounge, last year on the Prinsendam there were a couple of extra parties for the suites in the Neptune Lounge (over and above suite get together). Probably because it was a 20 day sailing with a lot of sea days -and probably because it was the Prinsendam - but at those there was definitely caviar offered along with other incredible munchies:D
