Is a jumpsuit acceptable for Formal Night?

I have a black jumpsuit, like the one in the picture and I'm considering taking it for the formal night. I really do not want to pack my evening gown or cocktail dress this time.

Which line? It varies; probably not good for Cunard (men wear jackets even on informal nights) but Ok for less formal lines, i think.

I'd bring a jacket or a wrap. For some reason, dining rooms are chilly!

Go for it! I have a black halter neck jumpsuit with flowy legs that I am taking on my next cruise. A pretty wrap will be going with it too.

Ok, when you said "jump suit"... I'm thinking like a jump suit used to jump out of planes LOL. I'm thinking, really? You're serious. LOL. I think your outfit will be fine and maybe a wrap or necklace to dress it up. Just no helmet or parachute!

The jumpsuit style is making a big comeback...My daughter now wears my vintage ones from the 1980's. :D

I think that looks cute--go for it. You might want to take a wrap or a shrug, just in case it gets a little chilly.

..and I have a powder blue tux with those oversized lapels......of course with the matching pattern leather shoes...............:D

Add fabulous strappy shoes, a wrap and some bling and you'll be fine.

I love jump suits. Here is mine.

I have cruised Cunard and agree it might be a little out of place there on a formal night. On any other of the main stream lines you will look stunning in it.

When I first read the title of this thread -- I thought we were talking about this kind of a jumpsuit:

I agree with the other comments about strappy sandals and the right jewelry making it perfect.

And make that bling bling, if that suit is just all black! And I agree, get a nice wrap with it, because it will be cold in the dining room. Remember, most people get their pictures taken on this evening, so wear it well!

As mentioned by others, do take a wrap because the dining room is often cold enough to hang meat!

The only drawback I see is going to the "ladies room" could be inconvenient. :o

Thanks to those who took this serious. I opted to not bring it and wear another dress, however I was shocked at some of the attire in the dining room. I saw lots of people in shorts and t-shirts.
