How do you get a free cruise?

1) play in the casino, 2) luck

there is no published criteria for exactly how these determinations are made, and reports are all over the place as to the demographics, casino play, cruise history, etc.

they also offered select sailings to diamond / platinum / gold members recently.

Spend a lot of time in the Casino.

Not necessarily, we recieved a free cruise earlier this year, and in 17 cruises, We have never spent $100 total in casinos. We do however, normally have $1200-$1500 on board accounts. So reasons vary for the offers. :D:D

no rhyme or reason to it. My son got one and he had only been on 2 previous cruises and wasn't even old enough to book a cabin himself. He was only 19. Luckily he likes me and took his dear old mom with him.

Oh, you LUCKY Mom!!!!

I do agree that there is "no rhyme or reason".....for the CCL FREEBIES (notwithstanding the casino handouts). We have several couples of friends who are neither gamblers or big on board spenders.....one couple received one free cruise, the other couple EACH received a free CCL cruise. And BTW, the couple that got 2 freebies stay in an inside cabin to boot.....not even big spenders in booking fares...hmmmm! Can't figure it out....we've received nada (and we book balcony cabins or above, spend more on board and gamble more).....so go explain!

I see no rhyme or reason to it either. I got one for the first time last year, and just booked one yesterday for this year. Last year I was only offered an inside cabin.. and it was tiny, tiny LOL, but heck it was free so who cared, :). This year they offered me the choice of inside, deluxe outside or cove balcony. I took deluxe outside because the extra half bath will come in handy as I'm traveling with my older brother, it will be his first cruise, so glad I'm able to take him. i've had many balcony's in the past and think we would use that half bath a lot more than that balcony since we both like to people watch. Last year I took my BFF and we only saw that teeny tiny cabin when we woke in the morning, getting ready for dinner and at bedtime. We were constantly crossing over each other while dressing though so an extra half bath would have been nice.

Anyway both were via casino offers and I generally spend $100 a day in the casino. So I guess $700 is enough? I don't know... I also cruise just about every year... maybe that plays into the equation and also I usually buy at least 2 Carnival sponsored tours and one or two drink of the day souvenir item. So when you add up what normally spend it more than covers the cost of a cabin... maybe that is how they figure it out. I mean its better to put someone in there that will spend the cost of the cabin vs sailing with the cabin empty perhaps??

All I know is my mama taught me never look a gifted horse in the mouth and I don't, LOL... I'm praying to snag another one next year so I can take my favorite nephew that has never been on a cruise. I would have taken him this year but he started a new job and can't get off, poor kid. Felt real bad he had to miss this opportunity, I never had opportunities like this when I was in my early 20s and just starting out... heck I was barely keeping ramen noodles in my lunch box back then :)

Ok, I'll lay out how it worked for me.

I got a letter about 4 weeks ago that I didn't even open from Carnival. Looked like junk mail.

Three days later I got a call from my PVP. I usually blow those calls off, but right as I was pushing her off the phone she said " Please give me a second, this isn't about selling you a cruise". You've been offered a "free cruise"(still have to pay 100 bucks, which they offset with OBC and port fees) I'm a teacher and usually can't take time off. She told me there WERE some christmas sailings available. I booked the Glory from 12/20-12/27 for two people. Interior. She offered me a 4h cabin, but it's too close to the front. I ended up getting an interior deck 7 for 350 bucks for two people. That included 100 OBC.

We couldn't have afforded a 7 days cruise if this wasn't the case. We are 3-5 day cruisers.

As to the casino link. I often spend 100-200 a cruise in the casino. We do our own excursions.

We have sailed twice - 2011 and 2014, and my wife has sailed 3 times 2009, 2011, 2014

My wife is mid-20's and I'm in my early 30's

My offer code (OH5) has expired.
