Hi my fellow cruisers!

Me and my DD (21) need help picking a hotel for 1 night (7-4-14) before our Oasis cruise. We are flying into FLL and won't have a car. I've researched reviews on Trip Advisor, but still having trouble picking a hotel. Which one of the following would you recommend and why?

-Renaissance Fort Lauderdale/Plantation

-Fairfield Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport Cruise Port, Dania Beach

-Holiday Inn Express Fort Lauderdale Airport South, Dania Beach

-Hilton Garden Inn Airport Cruise Port, Dania Beach

-Courtyard Fort Lauderdale North Cypress Creek

Thank you!!!

Have you considered Embassy Suites on 17th Street..great hotel, ammenities and location..especially without a car.

I have gotten my best rates on hotels using:

Last Minute Travel Club....go through the sign up process and usually (always) they are offering free membership....you might just be surprised on the good rates you will find using this very popular booking site regardless of which hotel you book. Best of luck and enjoy !!

Hi, Oasis sails from Ft. Lauderdale for whoever was asking.

To the OP, you need a room for this Thursday night?.....I never wait

till 5 days before sailing to book a room:eek: I would say they are all

regular chain hotels..but Dania is much closer to the Port than Cypress

Creek or Plantation. I would check Trip Advisor and get yourself a

room:)

Have a good cruise:D

Hilton Marina. It has great views of the port and sits at the 17th st bridge so lots to watch from your balcony or take a 2 minute walk to the bridge. You can also grab the water taxi from here as well if you want to explore. Rooms are very reasonable this time of year too. Just just my opinion though. Have a great time wherever you wind up!

Can it really be????

The original poster said they are sailling on July 4th....that is on

Friday. They need a room for 1 night pre-cruise.....that would be

this Thursday.

I just always book my rooms at least a couple of months (if not longer)

before my cruises. I prefer having that part taken caren of way ahead

of time.

Hi everyone. Thank you for your suggestions. I actually have rooms booked at all the hotels and I'm just trying to decide which one to keep. We are flying in Friday on 4th of July and cruise leaves Saturday.

Without a car, skip Plantation and Cypress Creek. You'll spend a fortune in cabs.

I agree with Lois, go with the Embassy Suites on 17th Street. Fort Lauderdale will be a crazy zoo this week.

This close to your cruise and on a holiday weekend don't wait too long. You mentioned you already have each hotel booked, be careful about cancelling the reservations so close to the date you need. As it is a holiday weekend some hotels have weird cancellation policies and I'm sure the hotels you won't use would like to have those rooms available for someone else to book.

Thank you. Cancelled all the rest without penalty and booked Embasy based on your feedback!

That's good. It is off season, so rates are low in Fort Lauderdale. 2 of your original choices would have cost you crazy cab fare and the 3 in Dania would have all been fine, but you might as well be by the port at ES.

Am I correct in that the Embassy Suites has an open bar in the evening?

It's called a Manager's cocktail reception...not what you would consider an "Open Bar" so type of drinks are limited.

That is high season, and it is a popular hotel. They may well be sold out. Did you try going to other sites or the Embassy Suites site directly?

You will not find any discounts for the Embassy for your dates. Expect to pay in the $300 per night range.

It's probably fully booked or they don't have rooms available for lower or discount rates (revenue management by the hotel itself). It's not showing up on Travelpony either. A rate for the nearby Comfort Suites Airport & Cruise Port does show up for your date, $270 1bed and a $295 2bed, tax and hot breakfast included and an additional $35 off.

It's the hotel that opens availability to those sites.
