Just got a notice from CC congratulating me on my 1,000th post and as such I wanted to start a new and hopefully fun thread.

Tell us about your favorite NCL cruise and why.

Our favorite NCL cruise was our 2014 cruise to the Western Caribbean on the Jewel from New Orleans. We received an upsell to the Haven Owner's suite, and shared a wonderful week with some great friends. We are now looking forward to our 2017 cruise to reunite with some of our friends.

Our favorite cruise was the NCL Crown out of New York to Bermuda in 2006. It was our first cruise and we had a wonderful time. We loved all three ports on the island and my husband got to show me some of his childhood hang-outs.

Thanks for this thread, very much like hearing about the positives of NCL.

My favorite Norwegian cruise was the Breakaway inaugural Transatlantic cruise. There's nothing like a new ship.

We had the upgrade fairy call before we left, so we crossed the Atlantic in the Haven. Plus, we got to meet Kevin Sheehan! Of course, the downside was after that cruise, my wife knew what it was like in the Haven!

Barry! That was one of my favorite cruises also [especially your big casino win and our celebratory Jaeger shots!].

Well, this is easy since I've been on only one NCL cruise. It was in October 2014 and it was an Adriatic cruise. It was also my first solo cruise. LOVED it! I wanted to try a new line and I loved the idea of so many specialty restaurants so I purchased UDP and really enjoyed eating at a variety of restaurants. The ports were amazing, and I met some wonderful folks from the roll call. I'm very much looking forward to my Epic cruise in March. :D

Believe it or not my favorite was on Sky.

Nice ship, easy to navigate and nicely decorated.

The staff was great

I won 321.00 on Deal or No Deal on my birthday.

Missed Great Stirrup Cay due to weather but it is still my favorite cruise on NCL.

Our Grand Med cruise on the Spirit in May was not only our first and only NCL cruise, but also our best cruise or land trip ever. We booked an inside but were upgraded to a balcony 2 weeks before sailing when prices dropped. I organized the M&G so we received all the benefits of a suite, which was amazing! We had the UBP, UDP, and a sizable OBC. We also had a fabulous roll call and completely enjoyed arranging tours and dinners with all of our new friends. Can't wait to cruise NCL again.

My favorite cruise was on the Norway. That's when my love for cruising started. She was a beautiful ship. As all the NCL ships are beautiful. I've also been on the Sun, Star, Jewel Pearl, Epic and Getaway. Loved every one.

Sun aft PH from Santiago to Buenos Aires. Yes! I experienced the ANTARCTIC LANDING excursion. One of the most memorable days of my life sandwiched between the beauty and culture of Chile, Uruguay and Argentina on my favorite ship

In my favorite suite with my favorite balcony. Made even more special by cruising with my wonderful mom, my fantastic cousin and my new friends I met on that cruise.

Favorite NCL cruise was on the NCL Seaward, as it was our 1st cruise, when we celebrated our 25th anniversary, and therefore very special.

Close second was cruising on the SS Norway, which became our favorite NCL ship--one of the last great oceanliners. Even experiencing all the glitz and excitement of the newer ships cannot compare with our memories of her.

Congrats on your 1,00th post!

Am I allowed to say that my favorite NCL cruise is the one I am leaving for TOMORROW???!?! By virtue of the fact that it is my first NCL cruise, my first cruise in 12 years, and oh, did I mention--it's TOMORROW??!!? :)

You all sound like you've had such great experiences, and I am so excited that my chance is finally here! :)

My favorite NCL Cruise was on the NCL Spirit Transatlantic in April 2012. We went from New Orleans to Barcelona. I met my fiancée on that cruise. We are getting married and doing our honeymoon on the Spirit in April.

My favorite was a 2009 14 Day Repositioning cruise for Norwegian Dawn from New York to Miami called "Circling the Caribbean From New York". It took us to several wonderful places we hadn't been before and was a wonderful time with a great crew. Met lots of great cruise critic people as well :)

My favorite cruise was on the Epic in 2013. My entire immediate family was sailing to celebrate my parents' 40th anniversary. My sister, BIL and nephew were first-time cruisers, and none of us were sure if they'd enjoy cruising, but they did! My parents were new to cruising at the time (had only sailed the Sky and Epic before that), and they are now hooked on cruising.

My then-boyfriend and I also got engaged on that cruise in 2013, so the Epic holds a special place for us. We sailed the Epic again earlier this year, thinking she was heading to Europe full time and it would be years before we sailed on that ship again. Little did we know, the Epic would be coming back to the US in 2017! Hoping we can sail again when she returns!

Love the positive thread, by the way. :)

7 day, Star, Western Caribbean around 2009ish

It was our first cruise after being out of the cruising world for almost a decade. It was like revisiting an old high school friend that you haven't seen in years. We used CC for the first time to plan ahead, and were confident with all our plans and what to expect. Met an entertainer on board who we are still great friends with. Did everything at our own pace. Enjoyed one of my favorite excursions after 8 Caribbean cruises: Lamanai in Belize. Realized how many Packer fans sail the Caribbean in the winter. Got to hold an baby monkey that promptly fell asleep on my chest.

What wasn't to love? Ok, it was in a simple inside stateroom, and I had to bring homework along (was in a master's degree program). The stateroom still felt luxurious to us and my husband and our favorite server made sure I never did homework without a cocktail...no matter where I was on the ship. :-)

There was just something euphoric about that trip that hasn't quite ever been the same.

If you would have asked me this in the beginning of July I would say without a doubt our sailing(s) on the Epic. We loved the ship and the crew and staying in the Haven was a treat.

But now, I'd have to say the Getaway. It was phenomenal. We loved the crew, the food, the shows, what we did in the ports. It really was a fantastic vacation and I'd sail Getaway again in a heartbeat!

Although I have only experienced 1 non-stellar cruise (all I said was non-stellar ... I didn't say awful, horrendous or even bad. I said, 'non-stellar') with NCL, my favorite cruise was on the Star to the North Cape this past June. It was also my saddest.

My first cruise was on the Wind on 11/22/98 with my husband. We were married for 42 years (admittedly with a hiccough or two) and he passed away, as many know, the week before Christmas. He was a man of the sea and as such, wished his ashes to be scattered at sea.

I spent a great deal of time planning this event. On the Star, crossing the Arctic Circle (thus figuratively closer to heaven) with a Hotel Director whom we had met years ago when he was Food and Beverage Director for Renaissance back in the late 90's.

It was a beautiful cruise, it only rained once or twice and in true Norwegian style, everyone I came across was intent on ensuring that I was OKAY and that the service below decks aft was okay. It was beautiful and serene. I know that my husband was pleased.

The overwhelming sadness thankfully didn't occur till 2 days after I got home when I learned that our dear friend, whom I had known for over 15 years and who I referred to as my younger brother, was no longer employed. Though our grief was palpable, we took solace in the fact that we got to spend 3 weeks with him before his tenure was over.

So, yes, the Star. Norway and the midnight sun is stunning. :)

I have only been on 2 NCL cruises and 4 cruises total, but my favorite NCL cruise was the Nov. 2011 12-day "Lands of the Bible" cruise on the Jade. We got a quick tour of Rome before boarding the ship, and then we sailed to Turkey, Cyprus, Israel, and Egypt and then back to Rome. I had been to Israel before but never thought I would get to see the Great Pyramids and Sphinx and Egyptian Museum/King Tut, so that was a real highlight for me. I'm glad we went to Egypt before all the current unrest. We were part of a tour group so all our excursions, tours, meals onshore, etc. were pre-arranged. All we had to do was show up and get on the bus.

Thank you for sharing. I'm so sorry for your loss. I've asked my daughter to do the same or me when I go, but hopefully that won't be for many, many years. I'm sure doing that for your husband will be a cherished memory for you and I was touched by the telling of it.
