Dream pics

Thanks. :) Well hoped it would give a flavour - thought folk would like to see the new decor. I think DH will have some more (of the dressed up Grill in the evening for example) so when he gets round to downloading his I'll add a few more which may be of interest and show anything different. (This could take a while!) But wanted to get something off quickly for those going soon - some today/tomorrow.

Thanks Kruz, cruise cant come quick enough now. They`ve done a decent job refurbing the cabins,if they had replaced the dark wood panelling they`d be even better.

Looking at the pics of the Medusa theres seems to be a lot less seating so suspect it could be difficult getting a seat a show/quiz time.Think I`ll put a towel down

Disappointed theres no bar in the gym :D

:D:D You're right about the Medusa seating. As geo had already said there is clearly room for a fair bit more - we stood and had a rough, conservative estimate and reckon 50 more would be very reasonable. Perhaps they have some more in the pipe-line being re-covered or if not should a lot of people comment on their evaluations, it would be something they could easily act on.

I agree about the dark panelling - there appear to three shades of panelling - very light, medium and the dark. Yes I guess the dark is meant to look rich, warm (and more expensive?) but just comes over as too heavy. Can't see them doing anything about that though. But yes, the cabins do look nice imo.

I was struck by how even the standard insides felt quite light, airy and spacious. They have removed that curtain which hung over the hanging space behind the door (extra to the wardrobe) and it actually looks better without it - has cleaned up the lines even with some clothes hanging here. I did have to ask for a few extra hangers to make use of this space but we fitted everything in quite comfortably despite the small amount of drawer space.

Have a wicked pic of you on the treadmill with a pint in your hand now! :D

After reading your excellent, detailed reviews and seeing these photos I feel I know what to do for my next cruise..... the Caribbean! :). Just looking at the photos I cannot see why people complain. It looks a much better ship than the Majesty especially the self service areas.

I have 2 more cruises booked on the Majesty but have chosen the cruises for the ports of call and being able to fly from our local airport.

No wonder you have withdrawal symptoms. It wouldn't surprise me if you posted that you had just booked another last minute cruise on Dream to get over the last one! :D

Thanks, Kruzseeka. That's really the first time I have seen photographs of the Dream and I can see why you like it so much. I love the bars, the theatre, the Lido and the promenade deck looks fantastic, so spacious and easily room for loungers and promenaders.

Very keen to go on her now but will have to be patient

Brilliant (as ever) Kruzseeka I award you a gold medal :D

Ten weeks today, we shall be on there, at sea on our way to Casablanca

Thanks! I could wear it round my neck for 'Champion sun lounger-er!' Certainly won't be for using the gym! :D

Soooooooooo jealous! Have a wonderful time Linda!;)

Thinking hard about it!!!! :D Would certainly love to! Would at least be good to settle on something for the future to have to look forward to.

But you are right Jakanne - plenty of choice of seating in the self-service restaurants (over 450 I reckon) as well as the associated pool deck seating both outside on Deck 9 and 11 does give a much more spacious feel as well as choice and comfort.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your forthcoming cruises on Majesty - as you say the destinations are all important and you can't fault the food or service on Majesty so all in all something exciting to anticipate.

And do think hard about the Caribbean next year - I'm sure you won't be disappointed in either the ship or the islands! ;)

Realise I haven't any pics of Orion which has also had new carpet/upholstery and is also very spacious - even more so than Celebration/Spirit even. Will try to find some from DH and post the 'extras' of areas I missed. But yes, it does offer space where needed - even the areas for sunbeds is more than adequate as long as people don't save them!

Quite possible they have more in the pipeline, hope so...Last year there was actually a lot more seating, some would say too many with very little room to move about and there was still cruisers having to stand in the walkways

Agree cant see them changing the panelling now, whats there is there.

I love that you have taken photo's of inside, outside and the four birth with bunk beds up and down. They have a plentiful amount of sun loungers and the eating areas look great. How easy do you think it would be to get about with a wheel chair? Also in the show area would you be able to use the chair as the seats look like they are in long rows. Thank you. K8TI

K8TI.

They have reserved areas in the show lounge for wheelchairs, they have a good view as well.

Kruz, they are great pictures, thank you.

I will try and fill in the blanks re Orion with either pictures or video.

The outside plus would have benefited from having the TV wall mounted on the other wall, it wouldn't be at it's best for viewing from the settee, but great from the bed. It looks like it sticks out a bit from the dresser, it might be easily knocked as you walk in the cabin.

See you all in 2 weeks.

Yes, K8TI joe's right they have seating areas for wheelchair users. The rows of cinema style seating are only at the back of the theatre and there is room to get around quite well in the main body of the theatre. The advantage of the cinema seating is that you can pretty well guarantee getting in to the shows - they provide a very large number of seats. Most people will sit in the seats further forward (many of them sofa-style) but those in rows are a boon in terms of capacity.

Incidentally, there were a few people in wheelchairs on board (some obviously using Thomson's chairs) but I did notice an electric chair and another which was clearly the passenger's own on board too.

K8TI I must tell you that those pics were taken as we arrived when there weren't too many people on board and being changeover day many passengers would have been taken off to the airport so it's not totally representative of the sunbed situation! Ther are quite a few sunbed areas though and the situation wasn't as bad as some I've seen - but would of course be cured by a determined 'No saving beds' policy.

Joe - that will be really helpful if you can fill in the gaps. I thought I'd covered most areas but it was only when I downloaded them I could see the omissions. Off the top of my head missing from my collection are the the Orion, the cushioned sofas and low whicker style armchairs on the Lido deck, the newly carpeted corridors (what a difference!), the Grill at night and the casino!

Have a great time and take the photos early on before you lapse like I did into such a relaxed state that you forget everything else! :D

Enjoy! :)
