Carnival Magic Vs. Glory

Recommended Posts

Has anyone sailed both Carnival Magic and Carnival Glory? Looking for insight...Magic vs. Glory. We have sailed on the Magic & loved it. Looking into a cruise that requires us to wait until 2018 to be able to sail on the Magic to our chosen destinations or sail on the Glory and be able to sail at an earlier date.

I've been in the Breeze (similar to Magic) and the Glory. I liked the Glory as well as, if not a little more. It seemed less crowded. But, and this may be a big deal for you, I don't care too much about the ship. I've had fun every cruise whether it's the Glory, Sunshine, Valor, Ecstasy, Dream, or Breeze. In other words, i'd go in the cruise that gets me in the boat the soonest. Your mileage may vary.

I've been on both! I found the Magic to be better for my kiddos having the water/splash place, the kids club had more stuff and the ropes course (I don't remember seeing the ropes on glory, I could be wrong though). Also I preferred the Magic because it was a little newer, less wear on the ship as a whole. I found the Glory had a really good itinerary and the staff was awesome! The Emerald Steakhouse was better than the Prime one on Magic. Pools, buffet, casino I found that both were comparable! Having said that, I think both ships are enjoyable and you'll have a great time either way! Happy Cruising!

I believe the Glory received a splash park in the recent dry dock. Something to consider.

Besides, the Carnival Magic was sunk recently.

We have no issue with Glory and if I wanted a particular itinerary, then I would book it. Glory wins for being smaller and to me feels less crowded, but Magic wins for sports square and food option. It isn't THAT much of a difference that we would put off a cruise just to go on a particular ship.

Have been on both. Much, much prefer Magic. Glory for some reason just left no impression on us. In approximately 20 cruises one of our least memorable. Nothing was horrible, it just does not stand out. Decor is awful on Glory. Magic is much nicer looking and has a lot more to offer in terms of amenities. We greatly prefer a ship with an Ocean Plaza with adjacent Taste Bar and Alchemy. Makes for a lovely pre-dinner experience. We grab whatever is on offer at Taste Bar, a cocktail from Alchemy and enjoy the live music in Ocean Plaza. Nothing nicer!

We've been on both, and Glory was more.... homey if you know what I mean. We met more people on Glory, and had better person to person experiences. Magic is wonderful and newer, but more to navigate. With that being said, we'll be sailing Magic again this December only because of schedule and price but you can't go wrong with ANY ship as far as I'm concerned. The Joy is in the Journey!

I have been on both and enjoyed both cruises. They have a lot of the same food choices. I did enjoy the Italian restaurant on the Magic and Glory doesn't have that as well as the Red Frog Pub. I probably enjoyed my Glory cruise more because I preferred the itinerary and had one of the scenic ocean view rooms at the front of the ship. Honestly both ships are fine. I'd pick more for price, timing and itinerary.
