Forgot to cash in chips on Oasis

Recommended Posts

Yes, they will have a problem. The Oasis chips will not be accepted on Explorer.

Why do you say that?

They are not Oasis chips, but from the Jewel OTS. Will this still be a problem? I have NEVER had a problem using chips from one ship to another, so long as it was the same cruise line. Is RCCL that different?

I've never had a problem cashing in chips from one RC ship on another RC ship. Have done it several times.

Okay, not so much anymore, but when I was single I used to spend hours and hours at the tables playing blackjack. While playing I would be playing with the chips, stacking and re-stacking. In any given stack of 25 chips, I would see 90% from the ship I was on and 10% from other ships in the fleet. This has been from several Royal ships as well as Carnival and HAL.

For experience table players, take a stack of chips and bet it, lets say 6 $5 chips. If you lose, watch them collect your stack and stack it in their tray. Red is red, I have never seen the dealer inspect the little logo in the center. And they all weigh the same, look the same, and feel the same. Unless of course Oasis (which I have not yet sailed) uses like a teal color for $5 chips.

Or if you win, cash in a couple hundred red and see if they look at the centers, or just stack and count.

Makes no sense that you could not use the chip on another chip.

The only time this would be a problem is if the operators of the casino were to be changed from one company to another, and I cannot remember this ever having happened.

Curious on this one, we were informed that chips were unique to each ship, hence why they are designed specifically for each ship and labeled accordingly.

Even down to the .50 yellow and $1 blue chips

The only coins (chips) that I would assume can be transferred between ships would be the silver $1 token (coins) chips that are actually coins.

And the Gold free spin to win coins

Different designs would mess with the casino inventory of a specific ship

And we have never seen a chip from a different ship on a relative ship.

Are the amounts you are taking from one ship to another minimal amounts?

Thanks

Graham

Does anyone know what to do with several $25 Oasis Casino chips that were taken home by mistake?

FLACRUISER99, I would call CR in Oregon 888.561.2234

Better to get clarification on the current rules and regulations as to if you can use between ships.

Interested to see what they say, we are on Jewel shortly, will also speak with the Casino Manager for clarification.

DW has $$$ worth of collectible $5 and $25 chips:), never have we considered using on other ships with RC.

Happy Days!

Best of luck:cool:

As I recall, the chips are the same from ship to ship, except for the ship name which is obviously different. Someone mentioned that Oasis uses a different color for $5 chips? I don't recall that. it's pretty standard in casinos to use red for $5, green for $25 and black for $100 and so forth.

I've never noticed being dealt a different ship's chips than the one I'm on, but I've also never had a problem exchanging leftover/forgotten chips from a prior cruise/different ship, either. (I would imagine at the end of the night they pull the chips that enter play from different ships.) Only once did a dealer get a pit boss to verify that it was ok to take the other ship's chips; maybe he was new or something. Every other time they've been accepted no questions asked. Of course, it's not like I've tried to cash in thousands of dollars worth of chips or anything, usually just $20-50 that I found in a pocket when I got home, although once a friend found a forgotten $100 chip which I took on my next cruise to cash in for her. I imagine if I showed up on the Jewel with a handful of purple chips ($500 each) from the Voyager, questions might be asked, LOL.:D

agreed on the standard colors for chips.

Guess I'll have to dig out all my greens blacks and purples from Freedom

To use on Jewel :D

I forgot about a $100 chip in a clutch purse from a June 2013 Allure Cruise and cashed it in when we sailed on the Jewel in December 2013. I found another $100 chip from the Jewel a few days ago that will be cashed in next month.

I had $100.00 in chips that were from the Sovereign, when she was replace by the Monarch i took them to the cashier and they immediately redeemed them, no questions asked.

I currently have $400.00 from The Enchantment I hope to do the same with on the Explorer in December.

I have found "foreign" chips onboard before - chips from another ship in a stack from the ship I was on. It was no big deal.

I wouldn't worry about it. As one poster said, I would just mingle it in with whatever chips I was playing with. They could never prove that you were the one intermingling it, anyway.

As long as you're not stealing or trying to scam anyone they will not hassle you.

This was a topic of conversation last week on the Freedom. They told us that any Royal Caribbean chips are fine on any Royal ship.

But I still cash out every time I leave the casino. Don't like walking around with chips. To me there are easier to lose then cash.
