When do you start getting offers from NCL CAS?

I'm a first time cruiser with NCL. And signed up for the Casinos at Sea slot club when I was on the ship. But I think I may start cruising more regularly. When I was in the casino, I never saw many people in there at all.

I earned about 600 points during my 7 day cruise which after reading a bunch of posts I realize is nothing. I know I won't be getting any free cruises. But I was wondering if, they give you any coupons or anything at all for beginner level, or do you have to reach a higher tier to get coupons. I live in Vegas, and often when a new casino opens up and you spend a little bit of money (less than $500), you start getting coupons for the hotel & dining, because they want you to come back. For example, when the palazzo first opened, I got several days of free hotel stays and free dining offers and barely spent anything there, but I was there in the first few weeks of opening.

I do not know if it works the same for Casinos at Sea or not.

On NCL, it takes 900 points on a cruise just to get a drink card. So, I doubt they are offering anything 600 points. The CAS website gives you info on bonuses at certain tier levels

It takes 1500 points to get a drink card on NCL if you don't have one booking through CAs or your certificate. And your right 600 points on a cruise gets you nothing. I average 4000 points on 7 day cruises. My last cruise on the Jade last month I had 4600 points and played in the casino 37 1/2 hours per the host.

You don't have to be offfered a free room like land-based casinos. If you have played on a ship, just call CAS with a date and ship and see what they will offer. May be a discount. May be a free room. Your tier status on CAS doesn't matter.

Here is my recent experience: I sailed the Getaway in March with the family. I played blackjack at most maybe 10 hours, mostly at the $15 table, once $25 and a couple of times with other family members at the $6 table. I did not win nor did I come close to breaking out of the Lucky tier. About two months later I received a bounceback offer and booked the Epic in December. Comped an inside but later upgraded through CAS for $50 each. This time I played the $25 table, maybe 12-15 hours but I won and I guarantee you they know it. They recorded every buy-in (and whether it was cash or chips) and every cash out. Also, when cashing more than $1k at the cage they asked for my card. Again I was nowhere near hitting another tier. I plan to contact them soon to see where I stand and will report back.

I have booked 4 cruises with NCL, all came with a CAS drink card. Three used an offer from a regional land based casino and were for comp inside. This summer my family wanted to take a cruise and I didn't have a certificate. I booked directly on ncl.com and would have to pay full price. I eventually called CAS and was offered a 20% for my reservation. I was delighted with the discount and to know we'd now get drink cards.

I took two cruises with NCL last year earning around 1500 casino slot points on each. Not sure if that boosts me in any way, but hopefully I can get something for 2017 as my family has come to really enjoy our summer getaways and I loved my first solo holiday season cruise.

Also I heard CAS is not longer charging the $200 admin fee, has anyone experienced this change?

The $200 admin was waived for people that have not cruised in a while. I guess NCL was trying to lure them back.

Booked a CAS mail offer today for December 2017. Still had administration fee of $250 per person and this was just an inside cabin. They did give us one promo and $200 onboard credit for the spa (there were other things we could have used it for like shore excursions, etc.)

I was reading on FB that CAS just changed to only allowing one comped cruise per year. Sounds ridiculous to me. Anybody hear anything similar?

I currently have 4 CAS cruises booked for 2017. I just called them today about one of them (in June) and they didn't seem to have any problem with it. My change I made today turned it into a 'new' reservation.

By the way, my June cruise was comped as an OceanView category OA. I called as I could see that the current prices of that cabin for this cruise were now just $10 per person below a balcony BE category. I asked about upgrading and they moved me into the new category at no charge. I know in the past they had a standard $$ amount for making the move from OV to Balcony that was much more but I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. It did change my promos like it was a new booking. We lost the no longer available Pre-paid gratuities but still had two of the new promos. As I was able to pick a nice Angled Balcony seemed like a good deal to me and we changed.

Moral of the story....never hurts to ask:cool:

Don't know why they would do that. They want you on the ship, in the casino. That's where they make their money.

We just booked through CAS a few days ago, and our reservation has the admin fees. Per person, too.

I brought this topic to my rep specifically today. She told me it still depends on your level of play and is case by case. She said they are trying to cut down on people getting 6-8 cruises booked without a lot of historical play, etc...
