Carnival (and maybe other lines) offer certain members of their loyalty club a free cruise (interior cabin) but you pay taxes, port charges, gratuities, etc. I have not heard of HAL offering this although some people who spend a lot in the casino get special offers (not sure if they are free).

A bounce back offer is a back-to-back cruise in HA lexicon.

Holacanada from Quebec City

Two cruises booked ahead ! Woooou !!!

YOu have acutally read, heard a HAL representative use the phrase, bounce back? I have done a great many b-to-b's and never hear d that phrase out of a huge num ber of cruises.

I know S7S but the OP ask from a «locution» he heard or read on the specific (other than HA) cruise ship company. This is the same definition. IMHO

I have received bounce back offers on my last cruise day from the casino host on several of our HAL cruises. Very cheap or free cruises (just pay taxes and port charges) to be booked and taken within a rather short period of time upon returning home. I have also received them on our Carnival cruises and in fact our next Carnival cruise in Nov. is a bounce back offer I received after our May cruise. I don't always take advantage of these offers because the timing may not work or if we have other vacations planned and booked in the timeframe offered. Love 'em!

Djptcp is correct (post #11).

“Bounce-back” is a term used by the casino operators of the different cruise lines -- Casinos at Sea for NCL, Casino Royale for RCI, and our own Ocean Players Club (Club 21) for the Carnival Corporate lines.

Rated players receive the offer at the end of a cruise. Generally, the bounce-back cruise must be booked within one month of the cruise on which it is offered and must be for a cruise within six months (I’m actually looking at one of mine as I type this).

The term "bounce-back" has nothing to do with B2B.

BTW, if you look at the threads on the "Casino" sub-forum of CC, you'll see the posters discussing their bounce-back offers.

Thank you for a very clear explanation of the term. Now I understand perfectly.

Does "bounce back" imply that the one might win back their gambling losses by going on another cruise? That would be laughable.
