  1. We have sailed on Seabourn and Silver Seas who also claim to be as good as Regent…..our personal favorite is Regent but the internet speed is not overly concerning to us nor does it ruin our enjoyment of the cruise. I don’t know anything about the RCL set up other than the link in your post. So I can’t see why that would be better. I am sure Regent has a reason not to up the band width since maybe they can…extra cost? Passed on to the passenger? We would pass at that choice as it doesn’t add anything to the cruising experience for us.
  2. Only in costal waters not in mid ocean…. How does that help? We have been around the world in the Navigator and to Antarctica in the Mariner, kept a daily online blog going and DH kept in touch with his customers daily, did daily emails to family and friends…. not a problem except very few times in very remote areas. You are on vacation on a ship in the middle of no where at times. Somebody needs to get a grip or maybe just go to a 5*resort.
  3. You are desperate if you are diving Texas sites!😂 Though my DH and sons enjoyed the overnight rig dives. We mostly dove GC and BVI or USVI since they were easy to get to with the kids (the whole family dives…in laws and grands. Unfortunately we have been grounded since 2018 and only snorkel a little now. Our sons families take a sailboat out for a week some summers in Belize, their families love the island.
  4. We were able to sign up when we were in the way to the pontoon for both actives. We very disappointed in the dive site though. If you have been able to dive on St. John’s USVI or the Red Sea to name a couple of places, you will probably be also.
  5. On you #5 in tender ports….most Regent tours leave in a small window in the morning. When the tours are leaving the tour groups have priority in tender space the private groups or individuals.
  6. Email the sanctuary and explain what you. I don’t remember how far the place is from town but some ships dock a ways down the river from town and it is a bus ride or boat ride to downtown and then on to the sanctuary. They should be able to tell you about taxis and how long into town and on to the ship. They might even have something earlier or be able to make private arrangements for you. It is worth the ask, never know what might happen. You will have to be back at the ship by 4:30 latest and earlier is better as you know. Brisbane is a big beautiful city. Hope you can work something out.
  7. We must be the odd balls, we are very comfortable for 2 to 3 week cruises in a cabin of -200 sq ft. Of course more is nice , but to have an aft facing baloney is the icing on the cake for us. No way are we going to spend the price of a named suite. We have always taken a low/lowest cat baloney suite on Regent even for grand voyages and world cruises. I can report on the aft facing G2 in Dec after we spend 17 days in one. This is smaller than the Mariner suites and we think her entry level suites are wonderful. Where as many complain that those are even too small.
  8. If you have not looked at the website for the sanctuary to see what they offer to the independent visitor do so. This might be one of those you use the bus tour for the ride to and from and go it on your on while at the sanctuary. We have done this a time of to at outdoor and indoor museums. Just let the guide know and know where and when to meet back at the bus.
  9. I would not be worried. According to cruise law news.com the two lines are dripping their stop in Ensenada due to gang violence.
  10. My question also. Just because you were cautious, didn’t actually feel well or someone asked you to test?
  11. We lost a port due to civil unrest after final payment pre Covid. It became a sea day no other option no money back. As posted above read the T and Cs. A port or two lost for what ever reason usually nothing happens except a sea day or maybe another port it they can work it out. Major changes….as in start or finish dates or mire than a couple of ports, we have never had that happen.
  12. Our family come to us for Christmas on odd numbered years, even number they celebrate with spouses family. Been this way since the first child got married 30 years ago. We travel some on even numbered year Christmases and have travel over Christmas with whole family (15 of us, so not to often needless to say). But we like to cruise over Christmas and NY alone if with family!
  13. So true. In fact it is hard to pick which tour to do. Go for the extra time Bangkok. It is one of our favorite cities. Be prepared though, you will be exhausted after the cruise….so much to see and do and so hot!
  14. Yea I bet!!! Dare I say Santa was on vacation.
  15. I am so glad to hear that Vishnu and Shambu are still with Regent. We spent 137 days with them as our waiters in 2018. They along with Big T and Mario made our meal! They are great!
  16. That is what my husband aways wears. He only takes the pair he is wearing and the one packed. (Plus a pair of beach shoes) Since he is past the suit/tux stage, that went out the window at retirement. One man wore red and white high tops with brightly colored socks every night on our would cruise and never a word was said!
  17. Can your TA or Regent. They should send you the exact requirements for your cruise about 3-4 weeks pre cruise. My understanding is Regent is not going to require a pre test after 9/3 but some ports are so they will send you information pertaining to you cruise within a month before boarding. Port/Country Covid requirements are a moving target still.
  18. Yes just tell the office how much you would like to donate and it will be charged to you account or give them the cash envelope. Easy and the whole crew will benefit from your gift. It takes more than the butler, cabin steward and waiter to make your Regent cruise wonderful.
  19. The op is asking about.tours in FP. The tours offered there except for maybe a circle the island overview are rarely on a bus, usually in a van or a group of self driver or driven ATVs.. They are ATV tours into the interior, diving, snorkeling, boat ride to a sand island for a picnic, sailing around the island etc. Last time we were there the buses the companies were using were not the most modern. Much better to do something involving the water. FYI we had an unfortunate issue with one of the small group private island picnics arranged by one for the cruise critic RR members (HAL). It was nothing like advertised.at least the ones though Regent had ship personal suppervising the loading process and there was no bait and stitch going on.
  20. We have been to FP 3 times once on HAL, once on Queen Elizabeth and once with Regent. First two times we rented cars for bigger islands or arranged our own tours on the smaller islands. FP is different than than a lot of places there are no big bus tours. The nature of most tours involve water and boats and are smaller groups. They are the same tours you can get privately in a group or though Oceania but you will pay for them. On Regent many are already included in the price or for a s all up charge. We have found most of the tours included are worth the extra cost for the Regent cruise.
  21. They have been advertising this way for years. Really why does it matter!? You either enjoy the Regent product or you don’t. If you don’t, why are you worried about how they advertise. Just take your money else where. If you like Regent why do you worry about their ads? This useless discussion has appeared off and in over the years.
  22. Our experience is that the cc would not charge back a partial amount, but only the full amount charged. Said That would get their attention asap and we would be able to settle with them on an amount. Worked like a charm and we were satisfied with the end credit.
