  1. It varies by ship. On some NCL ships, shorts are allowed in all MDRs. On other NCL ships, long pants are required in one of the main dining rooms. It's best to check the dailies on each cruise as things can change from week to week.
  2. Based on posts from other Joy cruisers, the excess vibration felt on Joy seems to depend on many factors such as the ship's speed, the ship's direction, weather, time of day, phase of the moon, etc. Some people report that it is still horrible. Some people report that it is bad for a day or 2 then goes away. Some people report that there's no issue at all. Other BA/BA Plus ships have had similar issues and sometimes, it takes a dry dock to fully correct any mechanical issue. Even when everything is mechanically correct, there is still some vibration that we commonly refer to as the "azipod shimmy". It bothers some people. It isn't an issue for other people. It's just one of those things. If you decide to do an aft-facing balcony (Haven or not), feel free to ask any questions. Stateroom configuration, bed location, balcony depth, balcony width, etc. are easily explained when it comes to Breakaway/Getaway/Escape/Joy/Bliss/Encore.
  3. Both. Forward decks 17, 18, 19. The aft-facing Haven balcony suites and nearly all of the forward-facing (window) Haven balcony suites have separate bedroom/living room areas.
  4. Was the price the issue? According to #2, moving to another ship should have been no problem.... I had one of my ships changed from Seaside to Meraviglia (MSC offered $200 OBC) but I simply cancelled and booked Seaside again for a different cruise.
  5. With my login to my MSC account, I can see all of my future cruises, my past cruises, cruise details, stateroom number, experience, etc. I don't understand why some people have issues and I don't but the issues seem to be common. Looking forward to part 2.....
  6. Cans are unlikely but the butler will gladly bring a pitcher of soda upon request.
  7. To be fair, even Bella guests can walk across the Bridge Of Sighs and the Infinity Bridge. 🤭
  8. Side balconies on BA/GA are generally less deep than those on Escape/Joy/Bliss/Encore. ....the depth (or lack thereof) of the balcony is the problem.
  9. Other than walking around with different color towels, most of the ship won't know if you are or are not a Yacht Club guest. (Yes, the YC towels can get you to the front of the line when returning to the ship after an excursion. 😁)
  10. On this forum, everyone is entitled to post their opinion. Starr2015 is posting an opinion. graphicguy is posting an opinion. You are free to post your opinion on anything that anyone has posted. The "smoking only while playing" is consistent with other NCL ships whether the ship has an enclosed smoking area in the casino or doesn't.
  11. There will be plenty of 20-something males and females (whichever he prefers) and the majority of them will have the PBP....👍
  12. Is that your check-in time or your boarding time? 😁
  13. I believe that it also matters how far from sailing date that the correction is made.
  14. On the ship, the RS still had a cabana on the pool deck. We simply told our butler which one we wanted and it was ours for the entire cruise. This was about 6 months ago. Cabanas in Ocean Cay are no longer included. We had to pay for ours just like everyone else in YC who reserved one. We tell the concierge which one we want by number. We've had the same one before.
  15. I wonder how many people actually paid for Corks & Caps once the PBP applied to all adults in the stateroom with Free at Sea.
  16. The same is true with the newest NCL ship and the similar ones that will follow.
  17. Doesn't everyone on CC do that during work hours? 🤭
  18. ^ Deck 13 - The smallest aft-facing balcony depth. For BA/GA, Aft-facing Haven Suite configuration B (bathroom with a view) is on decks 9, 10, 12, 13. For BA/GA, Aft-facing Haven Suite configuration A (bathroom without a view) is on decks 11 and 14.
  19. That configuration is not on deck 11 or 14 with BA/GA.
  20. Alaska was being considered even before Covid-19. It could still happen in the future. Explora Journeys will be there.
  21. Nobody at the port will even notice the check-in time.
  22. I saw the following a few days ago on a travel agent site but I didn't know if it was legit.... "MSC Cruises is excited to advise they are extending Voyagers Club card benefits until 31 December, 2023 for cards expiring between October 2022 and April 2023. Voyagers Club members will have the unique opportunity to keep their current membership level and continue to receive all benefits. This is a great moment to book your next cruise and choose the destination you’ve been dreaming about. Book any cruise sailing between 1 November, 2022 and 28 February, 2023 before 30 November, 2022 and Voyagers Club members will receive 700 extra points credited before their departure. This is on top of the 5% membership discount to assist guests in upgrading their membership level faster."
  23. The lack of adequate sound-proofing between staterooms could be something that NCL deals with on future ships. Layout and location of certain things could be improved.
