  1. So tired of the discussion about 'is Plus/Premier a good deal'. I just want your cruise deal!! $600 OBC and 6% single supplement (I already own the stock). How did you find this???
  2. I too have seen various bands, most recently Kirkland when sailing our of Seattle. I always pre-order a 12pk of water (sometimes more if we do not have drink package). And I too was on a cruise once where they ran out of small water bottles on day 2 of a 5 day cruise and they handed out the big bottles for remainder of the cruise !
  3. We had foot rests on Royal last month but we were in a mini suite. I dont recall them over the last few years with a regular or deluxe balcony cabin. Last month our little balcony was so crowded with chairs, foot rests, and the large table that we actually moved the table into the room! Its more managable with a deeper balcony.
  4. Why? Perceived value and simplicity. Even if I only really drink 2 alcohol drinks per day, I 'could' have lots more...13 more in fact. Now some people will drink all 15, and some people will drink more than they want or need only because they can (I have traveled with one of those!). However, I would say that most will not come close to 15 and thats where Princess comes out ahead.
  5. I am American and I fully agree with you. I have never left the country without a passport, nor would I even consider it. We got passports for all of our kids, in their teens, before they cruised. They have since used them for other travel outside the US. IMHO, if someone can afford a cruise they should be able to afford a passport (and travel insurance).
  6. Yes I had read a post about this last year. Basically taking money out of the local's pocket (albeit voluntarily since they agree to it). I refuse to use Medallion Pay.
  7. Just be warned, Puppies in the Piazza will be absolutely packed.
  8. Just....wow. But, if it works for you and you are enjoying yourself, then that's what matters.
  9. I have been able to book WIFI at the discounted price, most recently for a cruise last month.
  10. Not sure I would rely entirely on what Princess says. Best to ask but verify independently. We did have our passports when traveling to those countries (actually have never cruised without them) but I dont recall if it was 'required' or if we had to show them.
  11. I have not done so in the last year, but we have always booked our casino DISCOUNT (not free) cruises via our PVP. And I thought I read recently they can now book casino offers (maybe PVPs but not the general support agents?)
  12. I dont mind paying for wifi, particularly with 50% off for platinum. But....I have not gotten availability and quality anything like you are describing. Thats my problem....
  13. Fact is, despite tons of people continually asking 'is Plus or Premier worth it', only each person can decide for themselves based on their particular wants and needs. I can say generally its not worth it to me, and I sailed both with Plus and without. But I certainly cannot advise anyone else whose circumstances may be different. Do the math folks, or just decide if its worth it regardless to pay upfront and not worry about it even if you dont drink, are a light drinker, dont care about wifi, etc.....
  14. Wish Princess would put actual seating, like a loveseat, in balcony cabins like many other lines do. Thats all I want, dont need actual sleeping arrangements for 3. Any chance they are doing this on the new Sun?
  15. I am seeing many Alaska cruises with low solo supplement, but not the RT Seattle. Not much else. Overcapacity?
  16. Wow. I wish. But find it hard to believe.
  17. So glad you found it, truly I think you might have been out of options otherwise!
  18. I think this is different than the OP. You booked a specific cabin and had Princess or the TA mark 'no upgrade'. You should NOT have been moved. OP booked a 'guarantee' cabin which is not a specific cabin but is a cabin guaranteed to be in the same or better class as the booking. Princess can assign any cabin that meets that criteria. Regarding your issue, I book those Deck 17 cabins and also would not have been happy to be relocated!
  19. My understanding as well, with a guarantee they can literally put you anywhere on the ship in a category equal to or higher than what was booked. Now I have never tested this, as I have never been brave enough to book guarantee......
  20. Yes, it was on the Royal a few weeks ago. Thats the first I have seen it post-Covid (most recent cruise prior to May was Dec 2022).
  21. That is exactly what we did. We stayed 2 nights in a different hotel and then moved to Captain Cook for our included pre-tour night. All paperwork received at the hotel.
  22. A question for experienced travelers for this general itinerary. I am planning to book some combo of a Norway / Scandanavia / Iceland 'bucket list' cruise for 2024 or 2025. I am an experienced cruiser and fully understand cancelled ports, itinerary changes, weather, no guarantees, etc. but have only sailed from US or Canada ports. What I will say is, for me, traveling to Europe from the US and investing 2 or more weeks of vacation time and thouands of dollars in this vacation is quite different than a quick 2 hour flight to Florida for an inexpensive Carribean cruise where I would probably be OK not getting off the ship. So....is there a time of year to book this where I maximize my chances of good weather? I also prefer when possible to avoid large numbers of kids onboard so typically do not sail during summer (June-Aug). Do I need to make an exception here? Thanks!
