  2. I noticed this as well when looking at Deck Plans recently, when looking for the adults only Retreat area (or its equivilent). Is there any adult-only pool area on this ship that is open to all - not restricted to those booking Sanctuary or booking exclusive cabins? If not, that seems to be a big oversight. As Princess tries to appeal to more families, it might be even more important to provide an adults only area to those who prefer. Even Carnival has this.....
  3. Lol mine is the one without the lines. Seriously on one ship last year the dining room we were booked in had long disorganized lines, even with reservations. After 2 nights I changed my reservation to the one that is harder to get to - Allegro I think. No lines, seated promptly, all good!
  4. Saving 10% on that 25k is alot. But be aware, once you have paid on the gift card, refunds for cancellations will be returned to the gift card. My cruises tend to not be quite that expensive, and I usually buy and apply the gift cards close to final payment.
  5. It will be one night, 2 shows. I recommend arriving 1/2 hour early, the theatre will likely fill up by show time. You wont usually find lines at the entrance, though. I hope you get to see it, my last 2 cruises have had show changes/ cancellations and I had really wanted to see it again!
  6. So yeah I understand what you are saying, but perhaps they could have fixed the system to recognize the coffee package, just like it recognizes all other packages. Its smart enough to know I dont get free alcohol if I have a soft drink package and its smart enough to know to charge me something for my $18 drink if I have Plus. I do software development, support, testing for a living, its not rocket science to recognize the pkg gets free coffee and count up to 15 specialty coffees. I dont buy the complexity theory. More likely a desire to drive people to purchase more expensive packages.
  7. I have seen a few posts with this recently, and its a great idea. I have never seen this on my ships, most recent cruises on Royal, Enchanted, Majestic, Regal. Maybe its only certain ships, as the OP is on Sky?
  8. Got it. Before this new huge gelato sundae deal they have added in Plus and Premium, I loved stopping in for one or two scoops of sugar-free gelato. Last 3 cruises, no sugar-free gelato. Last 2 cruises.....long lines with people having these 'free' specialty desserts made and even limited gelato choices.

  10. On my US based sailings I have seen few white and gold dresses on 'white and gold' . I would not worry about it at all and wear your lovely new purple dress! I certainly did NOT go purchase any white and gold clothing.
  11. Lol...I get it! I have been poking around the MSC site as I am looking for an affordable solo cruise. Now that website is really bad....and I cant figure out the cost of anything. Princess site looks great in comparison!
  12. This is a tough one. I will say only once ever have we cancelled a cruise we put a deposit on. But I have read many a poster (both here and on FB sites) talk about putting deposits on multiple cruises and saying they will 'pick one later', and later didnt mean tomorrow or next week. So in that context I do see non-refundable deposits reducing some of that activity and making cabins more available.
  13. I sail mostly Royal class now but have also sailed Grand class. On a warm weather cruise what I want is shaded outdoor area around Lido deck or Sun Deck. If I were sailing during summer or a holiday time I would want an adult-only area like The Retreat with a pool. Preferably not where I have to pay extra (like The Sanctuary if you can even book it) or the new restricted class areas where you have paid a premium amount for your room. I have not examined the deck plans closely, but would consider giving the ship a test run if the price were right. However I suspect all this 'stuff' just increases the pricepoint, and I may not want to pay even more for features I do not want. I do like they have finally realized many people want a seating area in their regular (non deluxe/mini/suite) rooms, I felt Princess was behind other lines on that. I dont fault Princess for giving this a shot. There are still many more traditional ships to choose from if this is not to someones liking.
  14. Heres my opinion of forward/mid-forward cabins....I like them on the higher decks! My favorites are Lido and Sun Deck (on ships with Sun Deck cabins like Enchanted and Sky). I have also been in Marina forward. This has been on Alaska and Carribean cruises. Have been in aft cabins as well as forward/aft tend to be lower priced. BTW last month I won an upgrade bid on Royal from forward Lido balcony and was placed in a mid-forward Lido mini. Loved it! Its a gamble though, you have to be willing to take what you get.
  15. I am not aware of any restriction by Princess. You are more constrained by airline regs, if you fly.
  16. In the last few years I have both had them in the room upon arrival, and had to request them. I always mark that we want them, in the app. If its not there, just let the room steward know you want robes
  17. I would like to think that most (some?) passengers who are late truly just made a mistake or got caught up in some circumstances and are not self-absorbed 'the ship will wait for me' type. Not to say the ship should wait for them, but I do have some sympathy for those who simply made a very expensive mistake. I always make sure to be back early, but things can happen......
  18. Read the post above from @Chengkp75. Its been well documented that leaving balcony doors open can disrupt airflow to nearby cabins. And Princess does advise to keepthe balcony doors closed, I have seen the stickers on the doors.
  19. Room Service issues are not limited to this ship for sure. Last month we ordered room service for a late lunch. After 2 hours of waiting, we went to Alfredos for pizza. While waiting for our pizza, our room service items ordered 2+ hoursr earlier were delivered....to our table at Alfredos! The staff member handling delivery apologized, as he could see the order was placed almost 2.5 hrs earlier. They sent us chocolate covered strawberries later that day along with an apology note.
  20. Rent car and drive up into Canada to Emerald Lake, Carcross, etc. for sightseeing, lose track of time or hit some sort of traffic issue or simply misjudge how long it will take to return. Thats my guess.
  21. Not sure they were available every night, but I have had them on Enchanted in the buffet.
