Oh my goodness, I only just discovered your fabulous report! I am booked on the exact same cruise but on the Breakaway in May 2025. It's a cruise/stay from Australia and includes 2 nights in Venice before and 2 nights in Barcelona afterwards. I'm thinking I may have to extend at least the Barcelona stay for a couple more nights, there is so much to see and eat lol!
Thankyou so, so much for all the info. and I'm super keen to hear of the good or bad of any excursions you did at any of the stops - being our first time to Europe, I'm leaning towards ship excursions for safety (yes I'm a chicken, the thought of being left behind in the event of a problem terrifies me!)

@Ondine the same for Adelaide, only 2 cruises available, one finishes in Melbourne and the other in Auckland!

@MeganGC1983 it needs to say ship! 😁
@graphicguy I'm so glad you were not seriously hurt but I feel for you dealing with insurance, I wrote a car off a few years ago and it was a proper pain, unfortunately it turns out kangaroos don't tend to have insurance, who knew!
@Princess Cruiser27 @Etta1213 and anyone else dealing with storms, stay safe and feel free to send us some rain anytime you like, it is so dry here that the farmers haven't been able to start sowing crops yet and we are feeding out $200 worth of hay each week as the paddocks are so bare.
@Saint Greg yay for finally getting your car back!
I'm off to find @sid_9169 latest review!

I haven't been on for a few days and still have 6 pages to catch up but I just wanted to send my condolences to both @TxTeach79 and @RenoNanaOz. My heart aches for both of you and I send big hugs from downunder!

@TNVolnteerCruiser and @pirate4me2 stay safe! I do admit, tornadoes intrigue me and I love watching a good thunderstorm rolling in, I'm sure I wouldn't be so keen if I was actually in the firing line! How do your horses cope with storms, my biggest boy (all 17 hands of him lol) is a bit of a worrier, the rest just seem to put heads down and backside towards the wind and ignore it.
As for my tea, I just got to work (afternoon shift), it's just after 1230 here. I have a choice of pumpkin and bacon soup, honey soy stir fry chicken and noodles or what ever is left over after meal service here (if it looks edible!)

I so wanted a winter cruise but couldn't find one for a decent price once airfares were added, then picked up an amazing deal to Bali so spending 11 nights there in June instead.
It really sucks to have to add nearly $1,000 to every fare to catch the ship!

A late happy easter to you all! We had a family lunch at my brother's place, more to celebrate my dad's 94th birthday than for easter but it was nice to all get together. Dad's birthday is today but I am working so yesterday was the better option. As is the way these days, I had a call this morning to say my sil has tested positive to Covid, hopefully she hasn't shared it with mum or dad.

Happy easter tribe! It's easter Monday here, also my dad's 94th birthday. We had a lunch get together yesterday to celebrate as I am working today. In Australia, Easter is a 4 day weekend so public holidays and double time and a half on Friday and Monday! We all got together at my brother's place and this morning, my sil phoned to say that she has tested positive for covid. It worries me because neither mum or dad have had it yet.

Happy easter long weekend everyone! I am working today (Friday) and Monday so will be hanging around and playing with ponies, dogs and family over the weekend. My dad turns 94 on Monday, as I'll be at work, we are having a family lunch on Sunday to celebrate. We are all beyond easter egg hunts these days so that makes things a little easier lol.

Yep, it was a sad day here, The Explorer was due in on Tuesday but instead, helped for a while with the search and then stayed at sea until Wednesday. I'm very glad that all three missing were located, at least the families will have some closure.

Hi @DebSerge, welcome to Cruise Critic! If you go to the top of this page, look for the "find your roll call" tab, follow that through to HAL roll calls, then Westerdam roll calls, you will find a very active thread relating to your cruise. That would be the place to ask and you may find people organising private tours through there as well.
Enjoy your cruise, it looks amazing!
Cheers, Anne

What tha! It's difficult to imagine Lyle saying something to deserve a bad monopoly roll, I wanted to add my condolences to all the rest on the loss of Lynn's mum, I'm just catching up with all the happenings.

@princess76021 sending lots more hugs from the other side of the world, be kind to yourself and concentrate on the great memories xxx
@mopedmom1 it's hard to believe it's almost been 4 years, I still remember the bottom dropping out of my stomach when I read the news, sending hugs your way as well xxx
I'm fairly sure that if stewart put a camera in my cabin, he would end up more traumatised than me lol!

@pirate4me2 so sorry that you have lost your beautiful boy, I have a 27yo ex racehorse and I'm afraid the day is coming soon so I truly feel your pain.
@cruisin*tigger so glad you got through safely, we don't get tornados like you do but many years ago, we had one come through large enough to blow all the windows in, in a section of the prison I work at and uproot a heap of trees around my house. It sounded like a freight train was about to roar through my back door, so I'm sure a big tornado would be terrifying!
@sid_9169 I was hoping to watch the first episode tonight, after working sixteen hours straight from midnight last night and only getting 8 hours off before starting again, that didn't happen, gotta love catch up TV!

Cruise Critic Feature: P&O Cruises Australia Closure: What Does it Mean for Cruisers?
in Australia & New Zealand Cruisers

It's so disappointing for a cruiser living in country South Australia - no more Adelaide cruises and it will have a very big effect on the number of visitors to our city each year as well.
