  1. not so desperate that they would not allow me to make changes and I lost my $300 all because of initial booking and my not paying cruise insurance up front. Would not let me add in later. HAL can keep their dame $1 deposits. Princess does it better IMHO and do not ask for any prepaid crap you do not want.
  2. wow and this is a new ship!!!!!. Must be a staffing issue. Over on Celebrity there is a thread about Ocean view cafe having many options one week, and the next week greatly reduced by 75%. The more I read, the less I want to cruise. I think so much more drama and issues with everything is happening to all the cruise lines. Well except Disney.
  3. hoping the Bermuda does not charge $40 to get onto the island. If not, then I am glad I have been twice and no need to go back.
  4. well I had a nice time last year on my 6 Royal and 1Celebrity. I found Celebrity buffet to be slightly better for salad bar and also at lunch. I think 2023 will be a year of upheaval as all the cruise lines now try to pay down debt. Once Carnival started with all their changes, one by one the other cruise lines will also do. they copycat each other. I predict once people scratch their itch to travel, they will then ease back. I found the You tube video on page one by the OP to really be alarming though. I mean really a bit sad.
  5. wow that just seems silly to me. I know NCL if you have special dining promo, you just reserve ahead of time and no payment. Sounds like Princess make the process harder than it needs to be.
  6. well reviews for the Prima have said that a lot of venues are small. If you have never been on any Oasis class ships, I think Wonder would be a nice one to start off with. Lot depends on itinerary and or price.
  7. go on the Harmony as she is a nice ship, and you will save money. besides, Harmony has a Broadway show called GREASE which is fun.
  8. i sail solo and I still would not buy the key.
  9. Yes I agree about CK. I was in Jr Suite twice. Once on Symphony and when I went to CK to try to get a seat on the first day, the lady who handled concierge folks seemed to look her nose down at me and made me feel line I was bothering her. Later in the year on Oasis, I went on the first day and I was able to make two reservations. I went to the first one and was slightly underwhelmed. I mean it felt like they did well with the servic, but the actual food was small portions and just nice but not great. I then for the 2nd one after looking at the odd menu for that night, went in and cancelled. The fellow at the podium begged me to stay and said he could find something not on the menu. I said sorry, I will go to SJ and get a nice salad. So, I also felt the same way on Celebrity Blu. These upscale places have great SERVICE, but it was the food that was underwhelming, or the portions are small. the BEST desserts are on NCL. Many are just like grandma makes. So many deserts on other ships taste like air.
  10. could not agree with you more. It is a disgrace. And if they would just have more availability of making a variety of changes on line, we would not have to call and they could hire less folks as well. Then again, the costs of upgrading might be the salaries of hundreds of people. who knows
  11. nice yard. lots of greens love it. So for them to not send a card was rude. Well you know that they say, some folks are takers and some folks are givers.
  12. yup I agree they give you something that sounds good, but you must buy more in the end. Princess did not do this 2 months ago when they had their $1 sale
  13. well you and Pauline seem so nice that I was surprised to hear this. I guess every family has issues including the Royals. any bets on if Harry goes to the Coronation. I mean he wrote a book and slug some mud on Camilla. Papa no likey this at all.
  14. yes worth it. I have done a Quantum ship and Oasis ship on RCI. Great fun to see how things work. On the bridge an officer will come over to answer questions. Like seeing the kitchens too
  15. oh yes the wind. Twice last year on another cruise line (RCI) I had balconies that had a slight angle and when the ship moved, the wind whistled in between the dividers near the top and bottom. And one can hear folks opening and shutting the doors from above, below, on each side. I did quite a few balconies last year, and I am ready to return to insides.
  16. So it looks like you have done one port of each itinerary. I would pick Eastern as the classic St Thomas is always nice. Costa Maya is boring to me.
  17. I will trade you Phila for NYC any day. Felt safe in NYC except did not like smelling all the legal pot folks were smoking around Times Square
  18. this is why if someone does not speak up immediately, then the longer it goes the more they can say "well no one spoke up". Gotta nip it in the bud right away.
  19. I am surprised this was allowed in the MDR. I can it happening in perhaps the buffet if a group are in the back but really the MDR. and on Celebrity ???? You should have asked to be moved. in fact if you get up and start to walk out they will come up and ask why and help you. They do not want bad ratings.
  20. usually you can do it on the tv in your room too.
  21. book as early as you can because a lot of times there are two ships in port and only so many cabanas to go around.
  22. you can go to the restaurant on the first day and make reservations.
  23. wow that will make the 3rd ship Capt Rob will have been involved with for new construction. He helped reconfigure the instrument panel on Wonder for azipods to make more sense. And Captain Johnny was part of Voyager startup but not take out. Johnny was on ships before Sovereign was built. I know he had Harmony since 2016 which is a long time. I suppose his parrot will follow him to the Icon. Exciting time for Johnny as he is in mid sixties and might be going out with a bang on Icon. Great fellow
