  1. oh the new Jubilee might be interesting for you to look at. The Celebration got good reviews. I find the MSC names of ship to be very interesting and unique. I hope the RF keeps mum on their opinions and hold their heads high. No family is perfect, but I do not believe for one minute that the Queen would not have helped Megan if she asked for it. Your country was lucky for have Queen Eliz for such a long time. well good night to you over in UK.
  2. aw we have the same list I see. I know the ships are supposed to be pretty but if the food and entertainment is just ok, then I would rather do Carnival newer ships and hear less languages in announcements.
  3. aw I am doing the same itinerary in 2023 on the Grand P. It is a good one as you visit each port twice. So if bad weather one day, hope for the best the next time you visit. I am also solo and find Alaska very enjoyable and the excursions enjoyable. Since I am solo, I only book through the ship so if anything happens, they will wait.
  4. I am going on the Grand P in late August for a 14 days t/t from Vancouver to Alaska that visits most ports twice and goes to 3 glaciers. I am also glad the ship goes to Whittier instead of Seward for a change.
  5. might be less fights but better cookies. A lot of folks love the Enchantment and check out You Tube videos.
  6. yes we over here in the colonies known as USA also love the RF. Hard to know what stories to believe, but is a shame Harry is at odds with his family the way his wife is with her's. One last question, will you go down for the coronation? Also what new ships for Southampton are coming in 2023?
  7. capt Per is on Wonder not Capt Rob. this was from a thread about 4 weeks ago some one of the ship
  8. well since he is the most senior captain having been with ships before the Sovereign and was part of the team that planned Voyager class, it would befitting since he is in his mid 60's and much beloved captain. He has been on Harmony since 2016 and he is (so I have heard) the only captain who gets to pick what ship he want to go on. That said, being a new captain of a new ship, is 6 6-7 month commitment and is longer than normal rotations.
  9. I have not heard of this just the Tier C&A events
  10. I also did not care for it I loved the We will Rock you in main theatre. As for reservations, each ship is rolling out onto the website for precruise booking. But also, most of the shows there will be a stand by line and it is very easy to get in on the upper levels as well just at showtime.
  11. nope they do not take you down to the actual engines for safety reasons. I was lucky to do this back in 1977 on the Oceanic. It was amazing and the catwalks were clean as was the whole area, just LOUD. I think the tour I took on Ovation included the incinerator area, but on Oasis instead we got the theatre area. I enjoy the kitchen and the bridge. There will always be an officer who will walk over to answer questions. On Ovation it was Capt Henrik Loy but on Oasis it was First and Third officers we got to chat with.
  12. heck that is easy for me, I do not do Wi-Fi as I am on vacation so I like the dining. I think the tv will have important news on and the rest of my favorite web sites can wait until I get home. I know some folks need to work or pay bills, but I remember cruising before the internet and things were fine.
  13. aw okay I guess you missed the boat (ha ha) So to divert, I am reading the BOOK from a certain Prince who lives in USA and for the most part enjoying it. Learning some stuff about Windsor Park burial grounds as well as Balmoral. How is the book being received in your area? Oh and if you get to Edinburgh, visit the Britannia if you can. It was really great to walk around
  14. hmm interesting. Well wondering(sorry for pun) if NCL is limited to how many can stop. But if Encore goes there who really knows. I have yet to stop at either port. Might have to book a trip on NCL soon. I love Harvest Cay the best.
  15. well then it sounds like she is lucky to have you both. Hoping you are planning a cruise soon. I see a new P&O ship has arrived.
  16. I am glad to hear you go to the lido as I always like to do. I like to see my food and look out. I hope there are NO repeats in any trivia lounges. for the world cruise, I guess someone was hard at work creating LOTS of different trivia. I was on a cruise with Celebrity and the hotel director put a few trivia together and ask permission from CD to lead it as well. Was quite refreshing. well continue to have a nice day. My niece lives in Greensboro GA and goes to Athens a lot to shop.
  17. oh yes I was going to say the same thing. Princess is way over by the bridge and I believe where they are building the new Disney Terminal as well (unless it got cancelled)
  18. yes best of luck on your Sarah who I assume is your daughter.
  19. wow this is a large thread with lots of comments. Goes to show I think a lot of folks still like the night buffet.
  20. well perhaps Disney will listen to folks who complain, Then again it is Disney and they think they are perfectly right on all issues.
  21. i do agree with you very much. Over on HAL it is the music they talk about the most. Unclean ships and poor service are a concern. All the other stuff could be a one off. But of course my own cabin and my own issues would get my attention while on a ship. And anything that is not to my liking, I have a responsibility to speak up so they can fix. toodles
  22. okay never heard of anyone wishing for this. but hey whatever floats your boat (sorry for pun)
  23. well I would not recommend. I would call the restaurant directly given that technology can let you down. I would trust canceling on the app a bit better than the kiosk.
  24. I have notice over the last several years that say for studios, they seem to show one deck as available but then not other decks. If I call, I then get what I want. I would say more so over the last year, all the various web sites are a bit wonky when trying to book a specific area and it is best to just call.
  25. Hal goes out of AMS for Norway and there is a couple of non stop flights. And yes they are expensive to either city as it is seasonal travelling. I was not able to get non stop to Copehagen 4 years ago. All flights went through the hectic Heathrow. I have seen a few ships leave from Iceland too.
