  1. In Halifax get to the titanic cemetery as it was most fascinating. It is where James Cameron saw a name and put that in his movie for the Leo role. Also they used DNA to finally figure out who the unknown child was. Make sure to pick a tour that goes to the cemetery and also out to Peggy's cove.
  2. yea I don't gamble either. I still most likely would take a pass as I am superstitious of deals.
  3. well just be glad you are able to sail, I hope they do not shut down again. Right now NZ is having very bad storms with damaging winds. Just can't cut a break.
  4. well 99 a day should make it easy for me. while I hope my Rotterdam SHIP still goes out of AMS in July to Norway, I will now think about flying to AMS for a ship from Rotterdam in future as I have seen some interesting trips. Last time I was in UK at Heathrow and staying in London for a precruise hotel, I got brave and saved a lot of money by taking the train. Was easier than I thought with just a couple of questions. toodles
  5. i enjoyed mine last year and I was in a Junior Suite. But I do know what you mean as some ships do have hard mattresses. Maybe they are trying to fix this.
  6. i have heard that some captains love the Radiance class ships as they are a bit quieter to sail
  7. no I was thinking the same thing and you beat me to it.
  8. yes it was especially the solarium. The Aqua show is fantastic too. Nice country music in Mason Jar too.
  9. either too many ships in the schedule, or something else like increase crime maybe. I would take Mykonos over Athens which looks like a big hot mess of crowds and lots of ruins that I would tire of easily.
  10. I feel the same way which is why I continue to use Port Liberty in NJ
  11. unfortunately, this happens about I would say 15% of the time at GSC and Coco Cay. Just too bad they did not find private lsland further south. Some private island fair better than these two for weather issues.
  12. thanks and I hope I do not have to do think as I want to sail from AMS on the ship Rotterdam.
  13. i always do my own air as those cruise line ones are usually the schedules that are hard to book and hardly every non stop.
  14. I thank you kindly for your nice explanation.
  15. and my mom's favorite expression was "Aint't that ducky". If she were alive she would have fun looking for the ducks on a ship
  16. if I see an offer for something for free, I stop and think hmmmmm, what is the catch. I do not think I would ever reply to one of these offers so as to not get caught up in a room or situation that was not to my liking.
  17. I wish I knew why they chose the name Club Orange.
  18. and now that you know the selection, bring with you what you like that you do not see. Sometimes the cruise lines have supply chain issues. I sailed on 5 RCI cruises last year, and the tea selections were all over the place. And never saw any Stevia packets, but I did on Celebrity which is a sister company. Go figure.............
  19. could be the itinerary or the ship itself is boring to some. Or perhaps some went on sale with good prices. either way you have a right to ponder.
  20. wow first of all sorry to hear of two cruises in a row that messed you up. I would have thought if the lobster was bad you could smell it unless they over sauced it. And yes booze cruises can get on one's nerves if they get too out of control. I am not an alcohol drinker except one wine, but I find those with drink packages overdrink to get their money's worth. AS for amping up the M and S ships, I think not. They should leave them alone and just replace carpet and things that need to be upgraded. I don't want ugly orange moving deck on all the ships. I think if all the ships were way too similar, folks would go elsewhere. And right now, all the cruise lines are in debt. Wondering how 2024 and 2025 will be unless another darn virus comes along. gezzzz
  21. yea I hear ya but it happens on RCI too. I think all cruiselines try to do well, but if the prices are really cheap, well then a different crowd goes on the ship I think to drink and party more. I find the ships that go to place that are port heavy you will find a different crowd. But then again, the world as a whole has slid downwards in the politness and kindness department. Should be interesting how MSC does in 2024 and 2025 as they try to make changes to fit USA Market which by the way is not superior in my opinion just best for folks going on first cruise or not having travelled outside USA much.
  22. no I just don't want to hear 10 mins of a simple announcement in 7-8 languages. Is the disruption not my dislike of other people.
  23. okay good to know in cast my trip in July is changed. Do you have to pre arrange the train or just go up and get a ticket?
  24. well on RCI ships the buffet does get a pretty good size crowd enough to keep open IMHO
  25. oh dear I am supposed to sail out of AMS twice this summer and I would hate to have to try and get to Rotterdam. Gee whiz.
