Charge for popcorn?
Cherries Jubilee replied to RCCLNYMETS41's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I mean it does suck that all of the cruise lines have decided to charge for things like this BUT my question is, does it taste good? Carnival is charging for their popcorn and it tastes like burning rubber smells. -
They haven’t added our menu on the app yet. They didn’t update the January 2nd menu until that day. They still have the old menu so hopefully we will too. I’m hoping we aren’t the first trip with the new menu on Anthem.

Anthem ots - Starlink speeds

Thank you. You’d think as much time as I spend here that I would have gotten the hang of it by now.😳 That is good news! I hope you’re having a great cruise! -
Anthem ots - Starlink speeds
Cherries Jubilee replied to Phils01's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Sorry for the unrelated question, but how did embarkation go? I’m on Anthem’s next sailing and I have a 10:30 boarding time. -
Thank you!

Can you only use this credit before the cruise or can it be used onboard?

Cucina del Capitano, Ji Ji Asian Kitchen on Venezia?
Cherries Jubilee replied to BlerkOne's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
That sold out really puts the nail in that. I guess since it’s an Italian themed ship, an Asian restaurant wasn’t really a necessity. Since they’re out of space I guess I should ignore that claim that they’re going to be announcing more. I’ll be happy to be on a new (to me) ship anyway. -
Cucina del Capitano, Ji Ji Asian Kitchen on Venezia?
Cherries Jubilee replied to BlerkOne's topic in Carnival Cruise Lines
Well in their q and a about Venezia they did say “and much much more to come”. You think they were just pulling out leg? I don’t expect anything new but I figured that meant they might throw in a couple old things the ship doesn’t already have. -
Thank you so much for doing this review!

Cucina del Capitano, Ji Ji Asian Kitchen on Venezia?

I really hope they have a restaurant that is similar to JiJi’s. -
Ooh I’m so happy to hear that roller skating was back! Thanks for all the updated info!

It’s $100 for a month of unlimited talk and text and you can make calls from the ship. I’m going to be on Anthem for 11 days next month and I really prefer to be able to check in at home once a day. This is quite a bit cheaper than the internet plans Royal offers. Has anyone tried it? Were you able to make calls from the ship at sea without issues? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Brass and Bock on Anthem

I was wondering how the fried cheesecake is? -
Thank you! I’m checking the mail like it’s $1000 🤣. I never win anything.

Congratulations! Did it come in a regular envelope?

I actually won a $10 BP gift card on the spin game last week! It doesn’t tell me when it will ship though.

I have to admit this doesn’t bother me. I know it bothers others and I understand. I personally didn’t enjoy having to leave my room twice at times that were convenient to the room stewards. I have seen that the stewards prefer the morning service but I’m not a morning person on vacation. That’s where the problem is for me. I will try my best to convince my steward to bring me fresh wash clothes and towels daily and then I won’t really care what they do. It is kind of rude to cut this service down and raise the gratuity price at the same time but the staff deserves the money so I don’t care.

Royal changing main dining room menu
Cherries Jubilee replied to nasa1974's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I wouldn’t even care about this if they left the steak and the salmon on the menu every night. Honestly their food is not good enough to take away the “safe” options. The more ingredients a meal has, the more the opinions on it will vary. You can enjoy the simple steak and salmon because there is very little to it. I will try to give whatever they came up with a fair try. I just won’t book anymore cruises with them until I see how I feel about the new food options. -
You just have to be flexible and be able to go with the flow. I think you have to be that way on land vacations too or else minor inconveniences will feel like big ones. I haven’t sailed Anthem yet so I can’t speak on her specifically. I have cruised RC twice since the restart. In the beginning we had to be flexible because it took a while for them to get back to normal. Now mostly all venues are open, shows are running, and ports are open. Be mentally prepared for the possibility of ordering 2 things on the menu in case you don’t like one. Pre-book events that you can and show up early for things you cannot book if you really want to see them. You might get chatty waitstaff and you might not. Since you know it’s possible, you won’t be caught off guard if you do. Coco Cay can be the most beautiful and relaxing day ever if you choose to stay in the quiet areas. It can also be fun and loud if you choose those areas. I absolutely love this stop and I’m sad it’s not on my next itinerary. Entertainment is good. It feels a bit more classic on RC ships. They are a bit more laid back and a little less loud to me. There is much more entertainment in the late afternoon to evening hours. I’ve been able to eventually fix any issues customer service area and I have a TA now so I hope not to have to deal with any future problems myself. In the past, telephone waits are long and agents aren’t always accurate so I might have had to call several times to get things done. Overall it’s about expectations. If you expect a short wait for boarding, every meal to be incredible, and to find every event to your liking you will probably be disappointed. But if you expect to bounce around trying everything and finding what you like then you will love it. Also remember that weather, passenger illness, mechanical malfunctions, and probably other things can affect your itinerary and they don’t always compensate you for it.
