  1. https://www.thestreet.com/investing/royal-caribbean-makes-a-change-customers-wont-like Did read this, not sure whether it affects X going forward?
  2. I can't seem to find the answer to this but we've paid a deposit (UK) for a cruise next year of £75. This is non-refundable. If we chose to pay more before the final payment date and needed to cancel, will we loose just the £75 and get the surplus back or loose it all? Wouldn't usually do this but with the Amex cash back offer, it may be worth doing?
  3. We've just got back from the Edge in Rome this Saturday... I read every thread beforehand and was a bit reluctant to go. From what we heard, 14 people had tested positive on the cruise before and had elected to stay onboard (free of charge) I think all were "released" during our week. For our sailing they only reported 2 passenger cases and 1 crew. We were extremely lucky as we had 922 passengers so I'm sure that kept numbers down, along with lovely weather. We were in Rome after and there was talk that they are hoping to go with the UK rules from the 15th June (re isolation) but we will see. Seeing such low numbers was quite sad (for X) We had such a fantastic cruise
  4. Rules have changed I believe and it’s two bottles per person now
  5. Yes, this was in Luminae too. He kept trying to sing it’s praises, 1st press etc but it really wasn’t as nice as previous wines.
  6. No Conundrum or Decoy on the Edge last week. we were offered Château Soverain as the alternative but it definitely wasn’t as nice. wont bother upgrading for our next cruise as we tend to do this for the red wines. now that we can take onboard 3 bottles each, we will do that instead
  7. Sorry to hear of Don’s passing ❤️
  8. Was it a longer coach journey? I don’t know if they do it for anything under 15 mins?
  9. We are currently on the Edge. No Decoy or Conundrum 😩 As suggested above though, they offered Chateau Souverain, which was good.
  10. We sail Sat and it would be so much more convenient to change our tests to tomorrow. I'm reluctant to do it as it could be another one of their errors!
  11. Someone mentioned that it's new (maybe in line with the package hikes?) Will check it out next week and report back
  12. Thank you. We will have an alcoholic drinks package so will see if this is being waived as yet. We board on Saturday.
  13. So I assume you can take the wine to a restaurant and have them open it for you too?
  14. So in that case, rather than being offloaded, it would be better to remain onboard as the isolation period could be shorter I suppose.
  15. Getting out is definitely beneficial to your mental health. Wishing you a speedy recovery and hopefully a safe trip home soon.
  16. This may be the case but we are still encouraged to isolate or minimise trips if possible. Certainly wouldn’t recommend going off and sightseeing unless outside and distanced.
  17. We had an aft suite on the Silhouette in Sept. Loved the ship! Never really got to use the balcony as it was a British Isles cruise. You won't be disappointed! 5 nights until our first sailing on the Edge
  18. If we all thought we should have known better no one would be cruising! We cancelled our Caribbean one in Jan as Omnicron had just "taken off" and then cancelled the Galapagos (should be there at the moment) not so much because of the virus but more due to the expense and they were both first time experiences. We have rebooked a shorter cruise at the end of the week - 7 nights from Rome. All the changes to procedures open our eyes to what if but you can't go fully prepared as the situation is so fluid! Although, coming from the UK, we are not so much stuck in Italy. I think I would opt to stay onboard though (even though we are fully insured) as I prefer the known to the unknown. Wishing you all the best and I think some of the previous comments are uncalled for and extremely insensitive to your situation!
  19. Do you know whether, if you decide to stay on the ship instead of being put ashore, can you stay on until the end of that next leg or do they offload you in the next port after testing negative?
  20. I really feel for you and if it just reiterates that if you'd been able to stay in your original cabin, it would have been so much better for your "mental health". Could you have chosen to go to a quarantine hotel on land? Also, if half way round the next leg, if you do test negative and get released back into society can you finish that cruise....where do they put you, as I imagine your original cabin has gone?
  21. Most people I know who've had it recently seem to test positive for longer at the moment? At Xmas it seemed to be 3 to 5 days and now it seems to be about 2 weeks? Sorry to hear that you are too 😞
  22. I didn’t realise you were locked in 😳 I know isolation is just that but it would be nice to know that if you took a turn for the worse, someone would come to help quickly. we are sailing next week and if I could cancel I would but having already cancelled 3, we have too much FCC and not a lot of spare time to fit one in within the next year. Wishing you a speedy recovery
  23. Just our of interest...do you think by being in quarantine it has actually put you in more danger? I know that if you felt really ill and no one came, there's nothing to stop you going to the Medical centre yourself. I would be hesitant to come forward if it actually put me more at risk!
  24. Of course. Thanks, that makes sense.
