  1. Nope. The Ecstasy is part of the Fantasy-class. The Celebration was part of the Holiday-class. HOLIDAY CLASS Holiday Jubilee Celebration FANTASY CLASS Fantasy Sensation Imagination Inspiration Fascination Ecstasy Elation Paradise
  2. Sad to watch these videos of John's knowing the ship will be at the scrap yard by the end of the year.
  3. Would love to hear a live report of her final sailing. First Fantasy-class ship to actually get a proper farewell.
  4. Odd question, but after its final sailing is it going straight to the scrap yard? Or I'd assume they'd empty the ship out as much as possible.
  5. Costa may just keep their active ships in Europe since the Asian market has tanked. Can't imagine Carnival China takes off, so maybe those two ships actually get turned into Carnival Atlantic and Carnival Mediterranea? They do have two new builds currently being constructed.
  6. Thinking Carnival is testing these two ships. If successful, they'll be turned into the Carnival Venezia & Carnival Firenze. Costa has four ships out of service/not operating: The Magica, Serena, Atlantica & Mediterranea. The latter two were transferred to Carnival China, but the line has yet to start operations. Costa has just 8 ships in total in service now.
  7. Costa is running with just 8 ships essentially. Magica and Serena are not in service. Venezia and Firenze are going to Carnival. No new builds slated.
  8. The Ecstacy's final cruise is next week and then it's heading to the scrap yard. Apparently Carnival didn't do much to the ship when it returned to service post-COVID and only kept it around to fullfil it's Mobile itineraries for 2022.

  10. I just crossed the Verrazano and saw the ship doing circles. So it'll just sit in the New York harbor until it's safe to sail south?
  11. Fiona is expected to hit the US Virgin Islands on Saturday, Puerto Rico on Sunday, Haiti/Dominican Rep on Monday and Turks & Caicos on Tuesday. It's a slow moving Tropical Storm which may end up causing more damage.
  12. Hoping by my 11-day on the Anthem in January it all goes away.
  13. I'm guessing it'll end, but with the rising number of cases currently, who knows?
  14. With the acquisition of the three Costa ships, unfortunately there's no hope for Carnival to keep the Ecstasy. Meanwhile, the Margaritaville at Sea is barely sailing at 50% capacity. There's no need for a second ship currently.
  15. The 3/4 night cruises tend to be booze cruises regardless of the cruise line. Bunch of young kids looking to get wasted in a short timeframe.
  16. I'd say have one in Jacksonville to do 7-day cruises. Maybe swap out the Legend in Baltimore to give them a new ship? Have the Legend or Pride move to South Florida?
  17. I'd be okay if the Atlantica & Mediterranea got transferred over to Carnival if Carnival China doesn't work out.
  18. I don't see the Paradise and Elation at risk of getting scrapped soon with these three additional ships from Costa. Probably one of these ends up in Mobile by 2024 when CCL goes back there. The other likely sticks in Jacksonville. I see both ships staying for another 4-6 years.
  19. Feels like it's a short WOW factor. People tend to get just one drink from it and never return. Apparently these cost $1 million per ship. A robotic bartender will never be better then a real one. Plus your choices are limited at the bionic bar.
  20. Is Carnival downsizing Costa? They'll be down to 12 ships after this transfer. They also lost two ships to Carnival's China Line recently. There's also no future builds planned for Costa.
  21. Much better ship to transfer over. Happy to get another Spirit-class ship. Surprised they're keeping the name Luminosa.
  22. The old Destiny is renamed the Sunshine. Considering the $$$ Carnival spent to Sunshine the ship, I doubt it goes to the scrap yard anytime soon.
  23. Wondering why they couldn't get another flight? A shame they were stuck for a month in Aruba.
