  1. The 11-day itineraries that are offered in January are usually reasonable prices. I only remember when Quantum took over for the Explorer where prices were insanely high.
  2. Odyssey would only be here in the winter. Utopia and likely a Voyager-class ship would come up for the summer plus a Celebrity ship.
  3. Doesn't appear like Anthem has a Transatlantic scheduled in the Fall of 2024. Looking more likely that the Odyssey will replace her for the Winter of 2024-25 out of Bayonne.
  4. Of course if she fell, her family would have sued Carnival.
  5. So the Venezia will officially be a Carnival ship. How soon before the Firenze is officially announced to change to the Carnival Firenze?
  6. I've been on the Anthem quite a bit and have never seen pitchers of beer sold.
  7. Every cruise that had Quest always had plenty of people bring a large bag of items with them. All depends on the amount of Diamond and Diamond+ members on board.
  8. It's a two month drydock, so it should be getting amped as it is long overdue.
  9. Disney Cruise Line doesn't have casinos on their ships. The demand for casinos in the Asian market is high, so I wonder if this would deter Asians from booking this ship if there's no casino?
  10. I wonder if Disney will add a casino since the Chinese love to gamble?
  11. So Disney will now have 8 ships in total by the end of 2025. Looks like this ship will be either based in Europe or Asia year round.
  12. Yes, that's what I meant. I consider Anthem to have three pools, the Solarium, the Indoor pool and their main outdoor pool. If Odyssey is replacing the Anthem, that Solarium will be packed on the colder sea days. It also makes an inconvenience for any families with children that can't go in the Solarium/a pool until it gets warmer.
  13. New Yorkers are also a bit bored of the Anthem. Would be nice if the Odyssey took over even though she doesn't have the indoor pool. Maybe Anthem has a drydock scheduled during winter 2024-25?
  14. I am so happy for Norfolk CARNIVAL CRUISE LINE ANNOUNCES SIGNIFICANT EXPANSION IN NORFOLK TO BRING HIGHEST GUEST VOLUME IN PORT’S HISTORY Additional 2023 Carnival Sailings from Norfolk Are First Step in Discussions About Proposed Year-round Operation Starting in 2025 MIAMI, Nov. 14, 2022 – Carnival Cruise Line today announced it will more than double the fun and the cruises it offers from Norfolk, Virginia, in 2023, and extend sailings to a consecutive six-month period from May through October. The announcement is a first step toward a proposed year-round cruise program from Norfolk starting in 2025, as Carnival and City of Norfolk leaders discuss necessary terminal and port improvements to support an expansion of operations. With plans to welcome about 100,000 guests next year, Carnival’s increase in operations will bring the highest volume of cruise guests in the history of Norfolk’s Half Moone Cruise Center. The new 2023 offerings go on sale today and will include four- to 10-day voyages aboard Carnival Magic. Available itineraries include Eastern Caribbean, The Bahamas, Bermuda, and Canada and New England. “We have been working closely with Norfolk city officials on this expansion since our successful restart earlier this year and it’s great to now share our plans with our guests,” said Christine Duffy, president of Carnival Cruise Line. “We look forward to building on our 20-year commitment to this community and continuing the momentum toward further expansion in the future, while increasing our positive economic impact in Norfolk.” Carnival has been sailing from Norfolk since 2002 and Carnival Magic, which began sailing seasonally for the first time in May, became the largest ship to embark guests from the port, following enhancements to Norfolk’s Half Moone Cruise Center. Carnival Magic accommodates up to 4,724 guests and offers bow-to-stern fun including a wide variety of stateroom accommodations, a multitude of dining options, Carnival’s signature entertainment, the Cloud 9 spa, water slides and the Serenity, adult-only retreat. "For twenty years, Norfolk has valued its partnership with Carnival Cruise Line. Today’s announcement is a significant milestone for our cruise program and our community,” said Norfolk Mayor Kenneth Alexander. "For a full six months next year, guests from across the Mid-Atlantic will have the chance to board a Carnival ship from Norfolk and beginning in 2025, our collective goal is for Carnival to set sail from Nauticus year-round” Carnival’s plan to deploy Carnival Magic for a longer stay in Norfolk is part of a larger expansion of the cruise line’s mid-Atlantic guest operations. In June of 2023, Carnival will begin offering year-round service from New York when the 5,260-passenger Costa Venezia joins the fleet as Carnival Venezia. This will allow Carnival Magic which has been splitting its spring/summer season between New York and Norfolk, to remain in Norfolk for half the year.
  15. I just saw the Norfolk press release and it stated that it'll be changed to Carnival Venezia. Thanks
  16. Those longer sailings in the winter are nice. I remember when they used to have the Miracle sail year round from NYC and it would only be an 8-day Bahamas cruise. Half the cruise would be spend in cold weather. I think if the European market doesn't improve, the Venezia will eventually been named the Carnival Venezia
  17. FYI, the Sensation is to the middle of the Imagination(left) & Ecstasy(right). Appears they've barely touched the Imagination yet.
  18. Nice that they were able to change that second day to Puerto Plata. There's only so much to do at Labadee.
  19. Interesting they didn't try and schedule a stop in Bermuda.
  20. So only the Anthem and Liberty have had their itineraries altered?
  21. Now confirmed that Anthem will get two days in Labadee.
  22. The ship is at 118% capacity, too. That many people and I would need another port at least.
