  1. One is only, generally, stuck if they purchase a severely restrictive fare as such... otherwise, not an issue for refundability. Or at least that is how I purchase my airline tickets, that way I know what I have and what my desired routing is and it can be changed without jumping through hoops and screaming and angst and other such... Yet, that is how I and a few others I know, approach getting airfare to wherever we want to fly to. Leaving it to a 3rd party and then complain about what they are not doing for me or doing it the way I want it to be, can never be an issue by booking direct, refundable. Not happy, cancel and book elsewhere. bon voyage
  2. All the more reason the OP needs to book direct, if that is an issue as apparently it 'sounds' like it is...LOL In more ways than one... bon voyage
  3. Cancel and book direct, no need to be infuriated with 'incompetence' and the fact that X most likely cannot give you what you want of which they do not have access to, at the moment... I can only presume you have found flights which will accommodate your requirements, book them direct. Issue solved and further frustration alleviated. Sorry this is such an issue, as this is at least the second time I remember seeing a post about this situation. bon voyage
  4. It is evident that some of us need not be cruising in this current environment, due to reading comprehension and research abilities... LOL I do not need X or any other cruise line to hold my hand in order to travel, especially when the information it out there... Why take the fun out of planning? LOL bon voyage
  5. I tend to agree about the protocols and understand your situation, as well. I think what happens, in terms of applying protocols across the fleet is that each Captain and Chief Medical Officer on each ship interprets the protocol for their ship and sailing, which can change daily pending on the situation aboard. As such, many factors will dictate what can and will happen at any given time for this situation. In health and bon voyage
  6. Correct, not the time to be cruising if one has an anxiety or aversion to the current protocols in place aboard OR are very worried of contracting C-19 and having to endure the 'humiliation' of being quarantined not in the style to which we believe we are entitled to be regardless of same... LOL In health and bon voyage
  7. Well, it needs to be noted that regardless if one has Paxlovid with them or not aboard, if we test positive we will be isolated. While I Am sure there must have been at least one (1) person who could have or will need Paxlovid aboard, we have yet to read about the need. As such, for now, we do know it is not aboard any X ship and may not be for some time. If one is concerned about 'needing ' it while sailing try to get it from your prescribing physician or nurse practitioner or other such prescriber or get it from an underground pharmacy etc... If one is in the middle of the Atlantic, Pacific, Arctic or Antarctic oceans/seas and become deftly ill from C-19 I Am sure that X and any other cruise line will keep you as comfortable as possible until it is safe enough to off load you or not... LOL X nor any other cruise line will not want a repeat of the Princess Ship in Japan ... etc. most of the related sailings would be cancelled if there is a widespread breakout. In health and bon voyage
  8. Maybe the poster on that social media could not get as much as they wanted of them??? LOL bon appetit and bon voyage
  9. I understand your point, better. All the more reason each person who is at high risk need to consider trying to get a prescription to bring along just in case... In health and bon voyage
  10. I must say that I Am aware of the risks and am taking my first cruise in a few weeks and hopefully NOT be infected during or after... I have spent the last two plus (2+) years avoiding it!!!! We shall see for sure. In health and bon voyage
  11. It is no easier to get it here in the US, currently... either. In health and bon voyage
  12. I believe that NO US based cruise ship will carry nor offer such a drug to combat C-19. If a passenger becomes so ill as to warrant the need for same, will be dis-embarked at the next safest port for the appropriate treatment. Passengers can find out if they can get the prescription from their doctor and bring it with them. I see no reason that one would not seek it from their doctor if they have self-deemed that their condition may warrant such. In health and bon voyage
  13. One of many reasons individuals need to read the policy, in full, before purchasing or purchase through a legitimate insurance broker who will be able to explain to them what is being purchased and what to expect if a claim needs to be filed. No matter how good one believes their insurance is, we need to be sure of the requirements way before a possible need to use it. bon voyage
  14. You will need to ask the moderator to move it over... bon voyage
  15. To be sure, I do not know about you, yet for myself and others, each of us need to make a judgement in terms of responding, judge which aspects of the request to respond to, make a judgement as to rather we will respond or not, make a judgement as to if the OP made a valid request or not OR make a judgement rather or not any of our individual direct experiences would make a difference by providing our input. Will you or the OP or any other poster or reader please advise, in their judgement, how we cannot do so before or while posting??? 😕 Judging, hopefully, my points are clearly non-judgemental, intentionally... LOL bon voyage
  16. Yes, yet "many" of us will have adequate travel insurance to cover such instances, though. In health and bon voyage
  17. It is time that the policies surrounding C-19 start to change in favour of X, IMO. It is nice that they will continue to assist in making the arrangements on Euro sailings, yet the passenger is responsible for paying to get home once we step foot on land. In health and bon voyage
  18. The statement I made was in reference to "My Staff" all of whom do work for me and not about X's staff and associated service providers. bon voyage
  19. I Am from the mid-Atlantic states and always instruct My staff, until they understand what I require without my having to ask... LOL Or they get booted and I hire someone to replace them... bon voyage
  20. I, for one, would pay $100 for a well made and rounded salad which includes items which I would not normally purchase i.e. truffles, pioppini and yartsa mushrooms to name a few... along with some exotic lettuce and other such items of note. That would make for a $100 bowl of salad... bon appetit and bon voyage
  21. Well, this excludes the vegan amoungst us... LOL bon appetit and bon voyage
  22. Yes, it is fine, except for quite a few of the 'repeat questions' from the 'new' users are clearly answered on X's website. Were they not, all is forgiven. bon voyage
